Walking into the small coffee shop, Luke immediately caught his boyfriend's eye. He saw that he already had ordered him a drink. Luke gave him a soft smile and waved before pointing to the bathroom with his thumb.

He desperately needed to wash the smell of gasoline off of his hands.

He had been setting fire to a field of corn when Calum texted him to meet him at the coffee shop.

Once Calum gave him a nod, he ran to the bathroom and pushed the door open with his shoulder. He turned the water on and held his hands under the faucet, wetting them before pumping soap onto his hands.

He continued to do that routine, again and again. Was this ever going to work? He swore he would rub his hands raw. He gave up and dried them, leaving the bathroom.

Once he walked back out to Calum, he sat down and grabbed the warm mug into his hands.

Luke didn't catch the shifty look Calum gave him before he started talking.

"I think we should break up."

"What?" Luke choked on his coffee, his heart shattering instantly.

Calum took a shaky breath before talking. "You said you'd change and you haven't. You came here reeking of gasoline, for crying out loud." He explained simply, looking down at Luke's hands.

Was the smell still that strong? Luke could rage; shitty cafe soap.

It was never a good idea to piss Luke off.

Calum tried to quickly finish his coffee, wanting to leave as soon as possible. It didn't make it any better that Luke wasn't saying anything; he just sat there, clenching and unclenching his fist as if he was holding an invisible stress ball.

Then, he finally spoke up.

"You're going to regret breaking up with me." Luke spoke through gritted teeth.

Calum shuddered before letting a few words slip past his plump lips, "Get some help, Luke." He muttered and stood up, walking out without glancing back.
