"The fox last night." Hyunra dipped her head, straddling the boy. "It wasn't just a Venomous fox, but a sub-species known as the Meddlesome Fox."
"Meddlesome?" Sync questioned, staring as the light behind the girl forming a shadow on her body. "There had been rumors around the city that mentioned the sub-species anomalies, but I've never come to look too deep into the matter myself seeing as nobody ever had evidence. But, I've once come across an online chatroom from which I picked up that the creatures mutated over time, an Anomaly gene forming in their minds via a method that no one knows of."
"Precisely." Hyunra nodded, finally letting him up. Chatroom huh... "You were clawed by it during your last hunt or whatever the blazing you were doing, though you may not be unaware of it. It is more than likely that the Meddlesome Fox had injected some venom into your bloodstream as well, which may end up with unpredictable results." She narrowed her eyes. "Not even that specialist informant of yours knows the true meaning behind that scratch, does he?"
Sync stared at her, clueless as to how he should answer the question thrown at him.
"Oh well." Hyunra sighed, scrambling back to her feet. "I'll tell you how to neutralize the poison. For free, too. However, I'm only an informant myself, so you'll have to do the hunting.
"Oh, and one more thing." She raised an eyebrow. "According to the urban legend, the venom will take full effect 4 days after it is injected into the patient's bloodstream. We'll need to get a move on, Sync."
"Urban legends... Why don't you tell me to watch out for unicorns too whilst I'm at it?" Sync stood up, raising his arms in a stretch. "But thanks, in any case. Assuming that what you said is at least a bit true."
Hyunra glared at him, icy blue gaze blazed with intensity. "It's true." She stated flatly. "And I plan on sticking around for a bit longer, just to make sure you don't make any more idiotic moves and kill yourself. Consider me kind."

Attaching the earpiece, Kaede positioned it so that it was comfortable and wouldn't fall out of his ear. He double checked his gear then, making sure that he had his weapons and that beneath the form fitted jacket, the metal plating was still in place. It wasn't a lot, but just enough to cover his vitals, mainly the stomach area and chest.
"Ready?" Runa's voice cut through the faint buzz of static from their comlink.
"Yeah, you?" he answered as he holstered his gun and looked up. They'd decided to go back to where they'd seen the strange dog the other night. With no leads other than that, it was their best bet. Without waiting for her answer, Kaede started walking down the street, the sounds of crickets filling the empty silence along with his soft footsteps.
"Yes, I'm on top of the northern bell tower, just finished setting up."
"Be careful, don't put yourself in a corner, Runa."
"Yeah yeah, I know. Concentrate on your own stuff," she bit back.
Kaede frowned, releasing a sigh through his nose as he flicked his gaze to the tall bell tower straight ahead of him. The moon was just behind it, casting a dark silhouette around it. He continued on down the street, searching the darkness for anything that moved or anything that seemed out of the ordinary. His fingers were tense, one hovering near the gun, the other stretching open over the many throwing knives on his hip and waist.
What are the odds of not seeing anything tonight, he wondered to himself as he rounded a corner. He was pretty sure that no matter what, something would happen. It usually did when they were out hunting. More times than not, it was when they weren't really looking for any creatures in the night that they were attacked.
