I work at Dairy Queen, and yeah. It isn't the best job in the world, but it pays.
But what I don't understand, is the disrespect that I go through when I serve the public.
I get yelled at, mocked, dirty looks and I'm always being interru-
"This order is to-go."
Sorry for doing my job ma'am.
I take orders, I serve orders, I clean up after people's orders. Then I do it all over again. People may not think so, but I do a lot for my job.
"It's only fast food" / "It's only a minimum wage job" / "Don't be so lazy, it's not that hard"
It's people like you that make my job awful.
I hold my hand out for your money, and you throw it on the counter and refuse to meet my questioning eyes. I hand you your food, "I hope you enjoy! We'll be happy to have you return," I say with smile. Why do you snatch it from me? Why don't you thank me?
"This isn't what I ordered." I hear this on a constant basis. They refuse to have it remade, but they won't leave my counter.
Yes it's only a minimum wage job. But I work my ass off dealing with people like you. So think about what you say before you tell me "It's not a real job"
