[Renjun POV]

"What?" Renjun was basically overloaded with the information Yixing just told him. "Put that in simple terms for the readers!"

"Readers..? What are you talking about...?  ---Anyways, what I'm saying is, that if you and I have the power to get people together or lead them together, then Jaemin and Jeno have the power to break those people apart," Yixing further explained.

"So... Jaemin and Jeno can't have strings..." Renjun concluded. "Because they are supposed to destroy them."

"Bingo. That's it."

Renjun let out a sigh.

That seemed unfair.
Jaemin and Jeno seemed like a cute couple.

Renjun then realized that they could easily destroy all of the strings he worked hard to nurture between his new friends.

He had to protect the ships.

"Yixing-ge," Renjun adjusted his sitting position on his bed. "Can they see strings too?"

"Jaemin and Jeno? I'm very sure they can."

"How do they cut strings?"

"Well..." Yixing thought for a minute. "You know what, why don't I just have a friend of mine explain to you. He's in Seoul at the moment, and he can also cut strings. You can ask him."

"Really?" Renjun excitedly asked.

"I'll text you his address later. But for now, sleep my little Injunnie," Yixing giggled. "It's late."

"Thank you Ge..." Renjun smiled. "But why didn't you tell me about these people who could undo our work?"

"Because it's dangerous to know who they are," Renjun suddenly shivered as  Yixing's serious tone came back. "They're rare to find, as are we. Once you know who they are and what they do, you're in danger. They have one other job, Renjun."

"What is it..?" The younger's voice quivered.

"They are supposed to destroy the strings of people like us. --Their job is to make sure we never find our soulmates."

Renjun woke up even more confused than he was yesterday.

Yixing had explained to him after telling him about the danger, another Greek tale about the goddesses Eris and Harmonia. They never got along, being that Harmonia connected people and Eris disconnected them.

The people blessed by Harmonia (Renjun, Yixing, and his mom) were always on the run from the people blessed by Eris (Jeno and Jaemin). Harmonia wanted peace, but Eris hated Harmonia for being accepted more than her.

Eris hated Harmonia's people, thus, Eris ordered her own people to make the people blessed by Harmonia miserable.

The number one way to do that?

Cut their string.

Yixing didn't know much more after that and told him to sleep. Renjun obliged, and that's how he was here.

Walking towards the elevator to go visit Yixing's friend at 9 in the morning.

Taeyong and Jaehyun were actually in the kitchen making breakfast on his way out. A delightful aroma made Renjun's stomach growl.

"Ah! Renjunnie!" Jaehyun called. "If you're going out, come grab something to eat first!"

"Longchin," Taeyong turned to him, nyan cat pyjamas exposed in the open. "Eat some food before you leave."
