cute cut pro costs money, although there is a free version (cute cut) with limited features and an ugly watermark. to get the pro version for free you'll need to search 'tweakbox' download the app and search for it there. i've done that myself and it works :)
cute cut is a good choice for beginner editors who aren't looking to learn advanced programs anytime soon. it has a simple interface and if you want to just learn how basic transitions work then i recommend it. it should be pretty straightforward but you can look on youtube for tutorials for more advanced tutorials.
