Broken Ships Pt. 1

It started off as a breeze, then turned into a full blown gusty gale of a windy summer. Contefee rejoiced and celebrated, happy that summer had returned.

The heroes of the adventure waved as Lillie and Yuzu flew back home, also happy that everything was back to normal. "Love really is a powerful thing," said Yume "I mean, because of love, Contefee has thawed back into summer!"

"Yeah," Alice nodded "And it also thawed a frozen heart," She sighed "Too bad there's still one heart that will never unfreeze,"

"What heart?" Maria asked

"She," Subaru started "Um ... well ... it's complicated,"

"How complicated?" Juri asked

"To the point there are two of me,"

Everyone: 0_0

"Yeah, I know," 

"The Subaru you see here is from another dimension," Elza explained "Our Subaru, or, the Mad Hatter as he's called in most places. But, because of this cold, his whole body is frozen and buried -"

"He isn't buried," said Alice "Hatter said that when he died he wanted to be in his bed to make it look like he was sleeping," Alice started to laugh and cry at the same time "He's such a goof,"

"Wow, I'm so sorry," said Maria

"But -" Yume started

"I am sorry as well," said Juri "For the loss of your friend, but I also must be on my way,"

"You're leaving?" Subaru asked

"I have to, my people are expecting me after all!" Then Juri began to make some burning hot poses "I! Am! Back!" Everyone (except for Elza) clapped "Thank you all for rescuing me from ... *shutter* the forest I will not mention by name right now. And I'm happy to have of service for you. ¡Adiós! "

"Bye!" Everyone waved as Juri took off

Maria turned back to Alice "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine," said Alice

"But, you know," said Yume "If Yuzu's heart was frozen and Lillie could thaw it with her sisterly love, then why can't you thaw the Mad Hatter's heart with your love!"

"What!?!" Alice cried, her face turning red

"Yes!" Maria gasped "It worked for Yume,"

"Wait - what?!"

"I - no," Alice shook her head "This isn't a magic curse, he really did die from that cold,"

"But it's true love's kiss," said Subaru "How can it not work? Every other crazy idea we've tried worked,"

"But it doesn't make sense," Alice argued

"It's Wonderland," said Elza "Nothing makes sense!"

It took a while to get to Wonderland, but not too long. After all, they had a magic carriage to take them there. In almost no time, the five of them (plus Otome the horse) were at the Mad Hatter's house.

"Don't worry Otome," said Alice "You'll turn back into a wolf at midnight. Which is in ... ten minutes,"

"Neigh! (Love You!) "

"So this is the house of the Mad Hatter," said Yume "It's so lovely,"

Alice nodded "Follow me," Everyone followed Alice as she went inside the strange house, up some windy stairs (which at some points seemed to be upside down) then to the Mad Hatter's room.

A shutter went up Subaru's spine "He really does look like me," he said "Or, I look like him,"

"This is so strange," said Maria

"He really does look like he's sleeping," said Elza

"He does," Alice had tears running down her face "I don't think I can do this,"

"Alice, it's worth a try," said Yume "What's the worst that can happen?"

"If it doesn't work," Alice answered "it will be like he's died all over again. I don't think I could ... could ..."

"Sure you could," said Subaru "You have us! We'll be here for you, no matter what,"

Alice smiled "Thanks guys," then, she turned to the Mad Hatter, she got closer to him. She was still scarred. But she'd do it anyway. "Please come back," she said in a whisper. Alice got closer, and closer. Then she kissed him!

There was a pause.

But nothing. "I knew it," said Alice as she started to cry again

"Alice ..." said a weak voice

"Huh?"

"If those aren't tears of joy, then please stop crying,"

"Subaru?"

The Mad Hatter gave Alice a weak goofy grin "Surprise,"

Alice started crying harder, but this time they were tears of joy. "YOU'RE BACK!!" she cried, throwing her arms around him

"Yeah ... where did I go?" the hatter asked as he squeezed Alice back

Yume White started to break into tears. "It's so beautiful," she said softly. That was when Subaru (who we'll call The Mad Hatter to save the confusion) realized there were other people in his home.

"Where did you guys come from and - Mom?" The Mad Hatter blinked "What are you doing here? Why are you crying?"

"I'm ... I'm ..." For once, Elza couldn't find her words "I ... I think I'm ... happy?"

"Maybe you could use a hug," The Hatter thought

"I -" Before she could say more, Elza was suddenly hugged by the Mad Hatter

"See? Everything's fine," he said

After a long hug, the Mad Hatter saw someone else "Hey ... you look like me,"
