A/N Picture above is LITERALLY how I always pictured Nathan so I thought I'd share

When Nathan returned home from practice on Thursday morning, he found his uncles sitting on his kitchen counter eating brownie batter. It was a disturbing sight for Nathan, watching his uncle Adrian sensually lick the wooden spoon that his uncle Ezra was holding out to him. Ezra looked very pleased with his husband, and Nathan thought for a second how the half aroused half delightered expression on the older mans face would match that of Jean if he was seeing this.

"Could you like... not?" Nathan asked, drawing their attention to him. Quickly, Adrian's tongue returned to his mouth and he grinned at his nephew. Ezra slid down off the counter and looked at Nate, up and down, most likely noting that he was completely covered in sweat, before looking down and mixing the bowl of batter he held with the wooden spoon. "What are you guys doing here?"

Ezra snorted and looked back up at him, his eyes very green. "Are we not allowed over anymore?"

Nathan rolled his eyes. "It's eleven in the morning, and you guys weren't supposed to get here until seven pm".

"We didn't want to be late?" Adrian offered and Ezra chuckled, moving to lean back against the counter between his husband's legs.

"You live down the street".

"You know," Ezra began, leaning to the side so he could offer Adrian the spoon again over his shoulder, "You used to get so happy every time we came over when you were little. You were so damn cute with your big blue eyes and your huge smile. You'd run up to us giggling and throw yourself into our arms and call us cute nicknames".

"I was A-dwi," Adrian chimes in and Nathan's eyes narrowed.

"That's not a nickname, that's your actual name pronounced by a three year old," Nathan argued and his uncle Adrian just shrugged.

"Now you're just a shit," Adri concluded and Nathan's eyes rolled again as his other uncle laughed.

"Where are my parents?" Nathan asked, finally moving from the entry to the kitchen and crossing the peninsula to push himself up onto the counter alongside Adrian, who thought a minute before answering.

"Your Dad is still at at Work, but the museum is letting him off early so he should be here in about two hours. Osmond is currently taking the world's longest shower and I'm positive he's just doing it to avoid us".

"Seems like him," Nathan said, because it did. He knew that his father was more irritable when Carmen wasn't around, and even more irritable when Carmen and Nathan weren't around, and then even more irritable still when Carmen and Nathan weren't around but Ezra and Adrian were. Nathan understood this completely. Ezra and Adri were both loud, happy people, and his father was neither of those things. "You guys still haven't told me why you're here".

It was Ezra who answered him, leaning his head back against Adrian's shoulder to meet Nathan's eyes. "When you become a parent," Ezra took the wooden spoon from Adrian and scooped more brownie batter out of it. Unable to help himself, Nathan's eyes focused on the sweet, his mouth watering, "you spend all your time with your kid, right?" Ezra continued, drawing Nate's eyes back to him. "All you want is some alone time, and then you finally get it, and your kid goes off to camp, and you miss them like hell". Adrian brushed a hand through Ezra's hair, and Nathan's eyes once again slid down to the bowl of batter.

"Did you make brownie batter just to eat it?"

"Yeah," Ezra said, lifting his head from Adri's shoulder and excepting the conversation change with ease. "You want some?"
