Xander and I continued our search for wards but for some reason I wasn't as into it as he seemed to be.  I kept thinking about Emily's velvet lips and how I wished I could have kissed them.  I couldn't get my mind off her long blond, gorgeous hair in that cute ponytail.  The way her lips pouted when I held her face was giving me chills right now!

"What's with you, all of a sudden?"  Xander was staring at me.  I hoped he wasn't getting one of his crazy ideas to try and kiss me again.  I wasn't in the mood for vomiting, right now.

"What do you mean?"  I looked over at him and removed my fingers from my lips.  I hadn't realized I'd been tracing them as if I had kissed that beautiful girl.

"Luka, you've been rubbing your lips for the past three hours.  Not to mention you're grinning like some silly, love-sick human.  What happened to you, down there, Luka?"  The look on Alexander's face was almost funny.  He looked worried but I knew there was nothing to worry about so he just looked silly.

I chuckled at him.  "I'm fine, Xander."

"Are you going to tell me about it?  You know if you don't I'll just bother you for eternity until you tell me about it."  He was right.  He knew everything there was to know about me and my existence.

I sighed after a moment of him starring at me intently.  "Fine," I said.  "When I went down there, there were these two humans; a male and a female.  The male was chasing her and her cheek was swollen from where he had hit her.  It was so terrible, Xander!  I felt so terrible for her!  I don't know what happened!  She touched me!  When she fell I couldn't help but protect her.  Oh, she was so beautiful!  When that brute came running after her I changed and I grabbed him and told him how worthless he was to hit a woman.  I told him he disgusted me."

"Is that all?"  Alexander looked at me for more.

"No," I whispered.  The look Xander was giving me was the one he always gave me to wring out more information.  I shook my head.  I didn't want to tell him everything.  My feelings were personal!  He didn't need to know about it!  I told him anyway.  "When I saw the girl, she was running from the male.  Her hair was pulled back in this ponytail.  You know how much I've always liked those," I smiled.

"Yeah," Xander agreed.

"Anyway, when I saw her I was confused.  I thought she was running toward me but I knew that was impossible.  They can't see us in our angelic forms!  Still, I felt as if she was staring at me.  I knew it was impossible but I felt like she was looking into me for help, deep within myself and when she ran past me, while I was still in my angelic form, she slammed into my shoulder and she fell!  I didn't know what to think!  How could I think when everything I had known to be real had changed?"

Alexander's face help a type of shock that I could not name.  "Wait a minute," he said, stopping me.  "Did you say she touched you?"  Xander's voice always fooled me into forgetting his male preference.  The thing was he didn't sound to be homosexual.  He sounded like any other normal male.  His grey eyes were wide with concern as they stared into my green ones.  "That's never happened before," he said thoughtfully.  His brow stitched together in concentration and he stared out across the skyline of the city.  Virginia Beach, heavily populated and smelled of the ocean.  This was probably my favorite city in America.  It was nice here.

I watched Xander as he tried to figure a reason why the girl could have touched me.  That is until I got distracted.  The image of her came swimming back into my thoughts.  How light and airy she was.  She seemed free of any cares.  She probably could have taken care of herself if I hadn't have stepped in.  Maybe, she would have made certain that Todd had been hit by a car by dashing across the traffic ridden street.  I couldn't imagine her doing such malice, though.  Maybe, I was supposed to swoop in the way I did.  I didn't feel guilty about it, not even a little bit.  Maybe, just maybe, I was supposed to save Emily.
