*2 years later*

I silently crouched behind the large garbage bin in the alley of the outskirts of Baltimore. Holding my gun close to my chest, I listened for footsteps. When I finally heard them, my heart began to beat faster, so I took a breath and jumped up from where I was hiding and pulled the trigger of the small, but deadly pistol.

Daniel Hernandez, number 7 on the U.S most wanted list, was standing right in front of me, with a larger gun in each hand, and a sly grin plastered onto his face.

In my training I had learned that you should know the enemy first. Just the small things about them, like what foods they like, which movies make them cry, how old they were when they got their tonsils removed... yeah, that kind of information.

Acting also took a huge part in the training, that way, you could trick them into small talk and get back up to attack them unexpectedly.

But the first rule was to take away any suspicion from yourself and to make yourself seem approachable.

"Oh, hi there," I smiled at the criminal. He looked confused now, and began to lower his gun, and I did the same.

"I was just practicing in this alley, you know, my dad's a hunter, and he kind of wanted me to take on the hobby, so I thought I could practice here if it's an unoccupied alley. But since you're here, I guess it's not really unoccupied. What are you doing here?" I took on the role of a clueless teenage girl, and he seemed to buy it.

"I was doing the same... but don't you think this is a dangerous place for a little girl like you? Maybe you should try going into the woods, darling." He started to step closer to me, but I didn't move, and continued to beam with the fake smile.

"I guess, but since this place was the closest I could find to my home..." I placed my hands behind my back and reached for the device which, from a push of a button, called for backup.

Suddenly, the device was knocked out of my hands and fell to the ground. I looked up at Daniel, who was now laughing. Terror overcame my face, now that I couldn't perform my plan, I had no idea what to do next.

"You're Barakat's girl, aren't you, darling?" He whispered harshly in my ear.

"W-what are you talking about, sir?" I tried to go with the act from before, but I was positive that he didn't believe it anymore.

I heard a click come from one of his two guns, and soon felt the cold metal against my neck.

I smiled again, and began to laugh, leaving him confused. Behind him from where I could see, came the back up.

Jack and 12 other men ran into the narrow, dark alley and filled the corners. Soon, the shootings began and Daniel began to run. One of the men, Liam, got a good aim at his leg, causing him to fall to the ground, wailing in pain.

After we called the police, Daniel was arrested, and our job for the day was over.

"Great job today, Charlotte," everyone praised my work once we got back to the safe house, which was basically a mansion in which our gang lived in, along with the headmaster's family, but the walls and doors were all bulletproof, and many of the city's secrets were hidden inside.

"That was academy award winning acting out there. You know, I wasn't scared for you one bit when he approached you." Jack swung his arm around my shoulder as we walked back to our room.

"That's nice of you," I joked.

"Ever since you first joined, I knew that you would be great at this job," he said.

All that I could do was shake my head. "Join? You basically kidnapped me and forced me into doing this, I didn't have a choice."

Jack began to laugh, which confused me. Whenever I mentioned how I was brought into this, or when I ask anyone why they chose me to do this, they never answered, they just laughed it off or told me not to worry about it.

"I'm sorry for scaring you like that, but it was 2 years ago. Forgive me please, Char," Jack put his hands together and shook them, pretending to be begging for my mercy.

"Alright, you've been forgiven. Now go to sleep, it's been a long day." I kissed his cheek, which was rough from the stubble.

A/N:

Hello, I know that this might seem a little bit like another fanfiction, Decode, which is where I've gotten a few ideas from, but you'll see later on that it's going to change. Honestly I have no idea how this fanfic will go for me but hopefully it'll go far. Thanks for reading :)
