Vanessa

I woke up feeling extremely tired from my late night. I had been filming for a skit and had homework to finish. As I walked into the kitchen Tiger ran over to me excitedly.

"Hey Tiger!" I cooed softly. After giving him a few belly rubs I went to grab some cereal. "We're all out of cereal Nessa." Roni had frowned as she leaned against the counter. Letting out a sigh I wondered what I'd eat now. "Okay, I'm gonna go get some coffee and buy some cereal." I announced. Roni cheered and I laughed at the little dance she did.

After getting dressed and making sure I looked decent, I was driving to find a place to get coffee. Earlier that week I had saw a cute little cafe and wanted to go there. Now was the perfect time.

Walking in to the place I was hit with the smell of good coffee. As I walked up to the counter there was a girl standing there. 'She looks cute' I thought to myself.

"Hello!" I greeted her trying to be cheery. The girl looked up and paused. I had been caught off guard how pretty she was. But before I could compliment her she responded. "Uh, sorry. Hey! What would you like to order miss?" I couldn't help but stare into her eyes. The blue reminded me of the sky.

"Oh I'll just take an iced coffee." I told her. The girl entered it in before turning to her coworker. "Iced coffee Matt." He easily began working on my drink. "Anything else?" She asked. I glanced at the muffins debating if I should grab one. "I recommend the banana muffins. There's little chocolate chips in them." The girl said. I smiled and grabbed it. "Okay, I'm trusting you that this is gonna be amazing." I teased her playfully. She chuckled before she said, "I wouldn't recommend something I didn't like miss. What's your name so I can put it on the cup?" I giggled softly.

"It's Vanessa." I told her. I noticed her name tag and smiled a bit. Her name is Alex. "That's a cute name." Alex said. She quickly blushed and I tried to hide my own. "Thanks. It means butterfly." I explained. After that I went and sat at one of the tables. That was when my phone buzzed.

Roni: Nessa where are you?
Nessa: Sorry roni. Just stopped at a coffee shop then I'm going to the store.
Roni: Okay... don't be long

"Iced coffee for Vanessa!" Alex called out. I smiled as I walked over to her. When she handed me the cup I looked at my name and saw a butterfly! It was so cute!

"You drew a butterfly?" I asked in amazement. I looked back up at her as she sheepishly smiled. "It's just a little doodle. I thought you'd like it." She told you. You grinned. "Thanks. I love it. Have a good day Alex." I said as I left.

When I'd finally got to the store I took a picture of my cup before posting it on my Instagram story. The caption said 'the cute barista drew a butterfly on my cup 😊'. I couldn't stop smiling when I thought of her. Of course Roni noticed and questioned me about it.

"Why are you so happy today? See a cute boy at the coffee shop?" She asked playfully. I rolled my eyes and laughed. "Something like that."

The rest of the day I thought of her. And when the next day came I decided that I was going again. And of course the next day. I didn't even like coffee like that, but I knew I had to see her.  It didn't take long for it to become a routine. Sometimes I'd do homework there just to have an excuse to stay and chat. And every time I ordered a drink she'd leave little cute doodles on them. It was all going great really. I was trying to build the courage to ask for her number when an event came up.

"We have to go to New York?!" I exclaimed as my dad explained our plans. "Yes Vanessa. I already told you guys a while ago. Why are you acting so shocked?" He looked at me confused. I frowned as I tried to think of something. "It's cause she's always going to that café." Roni teased. I scoffed at her words. "That's not true." I responded. Roni giggled slightly before looking at our dad. "Well we can always get coffee in New York." He said calmly. I let out a sad sigh before going to my room.

The trip was fun of course. But Alex stayed on my mind the whole time. And I wished I had gotten her number. But I knew I needed to act as if everything was okay.

"Hey, it's our last day here." Roni said as she sat next to me. I gave her a small smile. "Yeah. Then we'll be back home." I responded. She grinned knowing why I wanted to be back. "Whoever this person is, they're really lucky. I just hope you don't get hurt ." Roni said thoughtfully. I nodded and chuckled. "They're very sweet."

It had only been a few days away but when we got there I was excited. I had been in my room unpacking when I got a call from Bobby. I quickly answered. "Hey what's up Bobby?" I asked. "Hey Nessa! I was calling to let you know there's party happening this Friday. You and Roni are invited. I'll send you the address." He explained. "Oh a party? That sounds fun. I'll let Roni know. See ya Friday." I ended the call. I was excited to hang out with friends.
And maybe I'd ask for Alex's number soon.

Okay I know this chapter was just the first chapter but in Vanessa's point of view but it was for a reason. Mainly so you saw her opinion on Alex and saw a bit of how she'll be in the story. Hopefully you enjoyed this chapter!
