Are you guys ready for some Jace deprivation? (I'm evil, I know ;3)
Buuuut... his POV might very well be popping up in this chapter for the first time.
Y'all ready?
LEGGO.
My tired eyes blink open, slowly registering the blinding white light filling my room.
Oh wait- that's the sun.I groan and stretch my limbs out, yawning so loud for a moment I fear for waking up the whole castle.
Flipping onto my stomach, a lazy smile stretches my lips at the feel of being swaddled in thousands of heavy, fluffy sheets and blankets, feeling oh so comfortable.
How come the bed feels so large this morning?Opening my eyes, I find myself staring at sheets instead of Jace's sleeping face.
Oh...right.
I sit up straight, surveying the silent bedroom. It seems bigger, emptier.
With a sigh, I get up and walk slowly over to the bathroom, drowsiness plaguing me.
I scrub my face, put on some new clothes, brush the knots from my hair before sitting on the window seat- feeling infinitely bored.
What did I do before I lived here?Looking around the bedroom, I catch sight of the enormous stack of books sitting on my nightstand, waiting to be read.
I can already smell the scent of old book pages, stiff from years of unuse, but I feel too wired to sit still long enough to even finish a page.
Oh well, exploring it is.
{Jace}
( Oh mother Teresa, please watch over me as I write this POV and deem it readable to all the lovely readers at home. Amen.🙏)I jerk awake as I hear a rapping coming from the carriage window.
I groan, wanting nothing more than to be at home, surrounded by fluffy sheets. Instead- I was left with a pain in my neck from it being in an awkward angle while I slept. With a deep sigh, I open the carriage door, running a hand through my messy hair.
I nod a thanks to the driver before I turn to face the Verlac castle. Not as impressive as mine- what with its gloomy dark colours and dreary forests surrounding it.
Even the maids that were coming towards me seemed miserable."Your majesty, we were told to fetch you to see our King." The younger looking one said with a curtsy.
She had ink black hair that reached down to her shoulders, though it was pale in comparison to Isabelle's.
Icy blue eyes peered up at me through thick lashes, giving her an innocent appearance. My attention slid to the slightly older maid towards her, who had thick honey coloured curls and dark green eyes... and who was blatantly staring at me with that look in her eyes.
I cringed a bit, thinking of a certain redhead who was currently miles away from me.
"You will stop your staring at once, please." I said gruffly, not phased by her flushed self.
Her eyes widened before she nodded rapidly, head now bent down in a show of obedience.
I sighed through my nose, hoping I wouldn't have to encounter more scenarios like this during my time spent here. The maids turned on their heel, hurrying up the marble steps that led to the main entrance.
I didn't bother take in the interior design of the castle, keeping my head up in a show of confidence.
I would never let myself come off as weak- especially here.My long strides kept up easily with the rushed ones of the maids as they weaved through the hallways.
We finally arrived in front of two dark wood doors, guarded by two silent burly looking men.
I quickly found all of their "hidden" weapons with my trained eyes, raising a brow with disinterest.
