Y/N  POV

June 9, 2024

I raced down the street. My heart pounded in my ears. I checked my Garmin for the seventh time that morning. 120 miles down. 10 more to go.

"You are doing great." My coach's voice rang through my head. "Wonderful. I have 2 of the guys waiting at 9th street to grab you and pull for the final straw. You are ready." He was proud of me.

I punched it and hit my threshold for the four time. Flying down the street at 28 mph, I took a corner and say my team mates. They signaled and I nodded. They fell in position and pulled me into the head quarters.

I finished in 4 hours and 30 minutes. My coach walked out. "Beautiful job out there Y/N. You are getting faster. I can see more titles in your future."

I smiled slightly. "Thanks." I showered and did some stats then packed up and headed to work.

I hastily walked into the building. "Hello." The receptionist smiled.

"Hi." I waved and walked into my office. Adam was already seated in the chair opposite my desk.

"I am so sorry to have kept you waiting." I apologized profusely.

"No worries. I have nothing going on today." He smiled.

I felt my knees squish a little. My he was good looking. No he is married. My brain was slowly but surely forgetting this factor.

"I have rounded several new offers up." I grabbed the file from my desk and handed it to him. He took it smirking.

I quickly buttoned my blazer in the front and sat back. I crossed my legs and turned to him. "Y/N, how if I may inquire are you only 20?" He rose a brow.

I blushed. "I look much older than I am. I always have."

He smiled at me and then he turned back to his file. "This will work. Line the auditions up will you?"

"Of course." I smiled and quickly typed the reminder down.

"How did you make your fortune?" Adam quietly  inquired.

"What makes you think I am wealthy?"

"Your outfit." He motioned to my pencil skirt, blouse, and Christian Louboutin's heels. "Louboutins are not cheap. Neither is your car."

"Let's just say cycling as a female is productive." I sighed.

"How good are you?" He rose his brow again. "You have to be good to make this much."

"I went to the Olympics in 2020 and won gold. I toured all of Europe and took first not only first female but first over all." I shrugged. "I have a gift I guess."

His mouth hung open. "Um yeah."

I blushed under his gaze. "So, I will be in contact with you tomorrow regarding the auditions and the whole table reading things."

I stood and so did he. "Y/N, do you want to meet sometime for dinner?"

I looked into his brown eyes. "What about Joanne?" I whispered.

His eyes went from hungry to sad. "She is out of town for a while. Plus I think she would like you."

I mulled the proposition over. "Fine, but strictly as friends."

"Friends." His eyes twinkled. "Sure."

He walked out and I sank into my chair. Why oh why did he have to be married?
