The blaring of my phone woke me from my stupor. I was sitting in a pool of rose petals and blossoms. The apartment smelled of a fresh garden.

"What the?" Shaking my head a bit, I took in my surroundings. A giant rose bush was inside Adam and I's condo, along with about ten or twenty rose bundles. My phone kept reminding me to pick it up. Grabbing it I stood from my beautiful bed. How hard had I slept last night? "Hello?"

"Hi baby." Adam's deep voice sounded in my ear.

"Hey babe." I smiled. His bass always seemed to calm me. Picking up a long stemmed crimson rose, I brought it to my nose. "I miss you darling." Our meeting yesterday had gone according to plan. Adam had been signed on for another blockbuster movie, and I was heading out to meet him in Greenland in about a week.

"I miss you so much more." He cleared his throat. "Did you like your surprise?"

"The flowers are gorgeous, my love." I whispered. "You always know how to make something special."

"I thought for sure I had woken you up at 4 this morning trying to put them down." He chuckled.

Sitting down on the lounge, I picked at the stem. Adam and I had been separated for less then 5 hours and it already was killing me. "Babe, what are we gonna do, I am already missing you to death."

"Are you now?" A beep sounded from his side, as he walked into his hotel room. "Well darling, that is not any good now is it?"

"No." A whimper escaped. "I don't know why I am so emotional right now." Sniffing, my eyes welled up.

"Maybe you are starting your period?"

"Possibly."

"Well what ever it is, I hope it doesn't affect you all day." He was smiling, i could hear it through the phone. "I have to go babe, but I will see you soon!"

"Love you!"

"I love you so much more."

After some more lovey dovey words, I hung up. It was time to move on with my day. Doing my hair and makeup, I listened to some music, and prepared for my meeting. Half past-nine I was walking out my door,  swinging my hips and hand bag ready to meet the wolves.

                                                                                   ~~~
"Honestly Harold, I do not understand how you have any friends in this business." I sat back in my leather chair. "You can not keep doing this to me."
"Listen, I get that this is a weird situation, but I think we need to postpone the release date. It will be better. I swear." He stammered, tapping his pen on the table.
"What is this, the fourth put off?" Swiping my pen on the page, I laid my pert signature down. "Fine. Last time. For real Harold."
"Thank you!" He sighed. "It will turn out wonderful, I promise. "
"It better, or you're fired." Pushing off of my chair, I stalked around the board room. "Just go." I waved him off, and he bolted out the door.
"Now now Y/n, you need to be more gentle." Ross, one of my older associates, chided me.
"Me? More gentle?" Turning gracefully on my heel, I fixed an icy glare on him. "He has had four chances to launch this line, and he has not done it. I can't run a fortune 500 company, if the people I hire, don't do their jobs."
"I understand, but he is a child."
"He is 20. He will make it." I huffed. "When I was his age, I was managing a company, racing world wide professionally, and getting a toe into acting. He will live."
"Y/n, you know that you are a rare breed of human right?" Ross stood laughing.
"Don't remind me." Sighing, I smiled. "Adam does every day. But he should be happy I am ambitious. We are more then comfortable."
"You do realize that you should be on a plane right now?" He ushered me out of the board room.
"Yea, I do, I just had some stuff to tie up before I left. This being one of them."
"Lucky for you that the director is flexible." Ross pushed the doors open and helped me out and to the elevator. My secretary handed me my purse and waved good by.
"Are you sure you can handle this?" I looked at him with a raised brow. As my senior associate, he had yet to let me down. He had helped me build this company up from the ground.
"You know I can. Stop fussing." He grinned. "Five years ago, you were never willing to step foot out of your office, you will be fine. I have handled everything, just go and enjoy your other career, try and relax."
"I know. I know." Smirking, I brushed his lapel down. "Thank you for being here for me."
"I wouldn't be anywhere else." His slender hand reached down and clasped mine. We stepped into the elevator, and he pressed the button to bring us to the lower level where my cars awaited me.
"I just can't believe this is how life is going. It is beyond insane."
"Enjoy it." Grinning, he gathered me in a hug. "I'll see you in a couple of weeks!"
"Hold down the fort." I smirked and stepped out. "See you soon!"
Gliding forward, I handed my Valet my purse, and he pressed the door for my Lamborghini Aventador open. Slipping behind the wheel, I reved the engine and sped to where my jet was awaiting me.
"Ms. Y/L/N, welcome." The flight attendants greeted me, and helped me from my car. "We will be ready to take off soon!"
"Thank you." Smiling gently, I strode to the jet, and climbed the steps. "Hey Frank." The pilot greeted me from the cockpit.
"Y/n." He flicked some buttons. "No Adam?"
"He had to be there earlier." Sliding into a leather seat, I pulled my Mac out. "Flew commercial."
"Ah, I see."
The flight attendants did their final checks, before we were off the ground and soaring to New Zealand.
