I'll protect you

Lumine Pov.

When I wake up I realize Kody was about to leave the house without me! I quickly get dressed and run after Kody. "Koooooody~! Don't leave me behind!"  I yell chasing after him. "What are you doing? You don't have to come, you could've got hurt because of me yesterday...." He blushes eyebrows lowered he looked sad.

I grin "it would he okay, if it was to protect you" Kodys face turns red. "Dummy don't say things like that! Especially not in school" he looks cute flustered- Bad Lumine! Don't think like that!

"I will protect you from everyone who tries to hurt you Kody. I'll keep you safe, I promise" Kody looks at me "stop it Lumine, I don't need your protection" "what would've happened if I wasn't there yesterday? How long have they here hurting you?" I ask face darkening.

"I can't tell you..." "Because you don't want to or you don't remember because they've been doing it for that long?" "Ever since I messed up my friendship calla!" Kody yelled at me. My ears fold down "sorry I was out of line" "no I shouldn't have yelled at you" he apologized.

At least now he knows that um going to protect him, I just wish they I could have saved him sooner. I've seen the pictures Aiden has in his wallet of a younger happier Kody. I wish I could let that Kody, then again I like my Kody too.

"Kody I-" I shut my mouth I could smell another witch. "What Lumine? Let's go" "wait." Kody stares at me. I think I just gave him an order. "I smell another witch or a few of them" "so why aren't we going?" Kody asked. "They don't smell friendly" "since when could you smell emotions?" "A while and your room reeks of sadness"

I look at Kody. "It's calla and get friends isn't it?" "You don't have to worry about them Lumine"

A few hours later

I look up to see some pale skinned witch girl with short dark hair and two other witch kids were beating up Kody. They throw a hit at him which didn't hit him but me right in the chest.

"L-Lumine!?" Kody said surprised. "I'm your friend aren't I? I won't let you take the hit by me not doing my job. I said I'd protect you right"

"So Kody has friends now? That's hilarious! Kody how much did you pay him to say that?" The b- I mean calla asked.

"He payed me nothing unlike you treating people into bullying" "that's cute kid" "don't you have anything better to do do than pick on others?" I growl.

The bell rings

"Now recess is over! You'll pay for this!" One of the witch kids that's so unimportant they aren't given a name says. "It's bad enough he's friend with a witch that can't even use magic, leave him be" calla said leaving with her little gang.

"Why did you do that I know they said to leave you alone but they probably won't... Why would you take a hit for me?" Kody asked. He was upset, I just wasn't sure whether he was angry or sad about it though. "I told you I'm your friend Kody" "I don't have friends" "Kody.... Then at least have me" then Kody hissed out "That's right the inky reason you protected me was because my dad made you my bodyguard!" My ears fold.

"Kody! I protected you because I like you!" I yell back. Kody shut up blushing.

"Fine I guess I can make an exception for you..." He said looking away from me. Well I'm happy even thigh I just got friendzoned...
