She's My Best Friend

Part 3

*6 years later*

When Bucky and Jolie were 11 years old their coloring days in the tree house were long gone but they still got in the treehouse it was where they did their homework. She was struggling with her math homework he laid beside her and said "Here let me help." and he showed her how to do it. She said "Thank you Buck." 

He smiled at her and said "Of course I will always help you when you need it doll." 

She heard the ice cream truck and looked down and said "You can go get your ice cream Bucky I'm going to stay here and finish my homework." 

"You don't want any ice cream Jolie." he said

"I do it's just mama didn't give me money today so you go and I will stay here." she said 

"No you come with me and we will share." he said 

He helped her out of the treehouse and they walked to the truck and he told the ice cream guy to make them a chocolate ice cream cone that they could share. They went back to the treehouse and they started to both lick the ice cream cone and their tongues accidentally touched and she said "Oh I'm sorry Bucky." 

"It's ok." he said as they both started to eat the ice cream again. 

They both had their eyes closed as they both started to lick their sides and wasn't paying attention to the fact that they were putting a dent in the ice cream till their lips touched each other. "Oh god I'm sorry Jolie I um here you can have the rest ." Bucky said

"no no no it was your money it's your ice cream." she said with a red face. 

"Jolie are you alright. Your face is red." Bucky said

"Yeah yeah I um I just um you and I sorta kissed." she said

He smiled and said "Yeah we did but it's ok. We won't tell anyone." 

"Ok..That's pprobably a good thing." she said 

She started to pack up her homework and he said "Jolie don't go." 

"I can't go home my mama is working. She works at the hospital now like your mama." she said 

"So you have to stay at your house all by yourself tonight." he said

"Oh no. I think I"m staying at your house I don't know." she said 

They both went in and Bucky said "Mama is Jolie staying with us?"

"Yes she is. Her mama is going to be working nights so she will be staying with us at night." Winnie said 

"Oh she's going to be working at night all the time I thought it was just for tonight." Jolie said 

"No sweetie I'm sorry..but she gave me a key so you could go get you some clothes." Winnie said as she took both kids with her for Jolie to get some clothes for the week. 

Jolie put on her pajamas and laid down on the couch. She started to cry and Bucky heard her in his room and he came out and sat beside her and said "Jolie what's wrong?"

"I'm scared Buck..my daddy had a job that took him away and now he's gone and now my mama has a job that keeps her away what if she leaves me too then I will be all alone."she said 

"oh Jolie it's not like that with her job. You know why your daddy's job took him away but your mama works the same place as my mama and she's not gotten hurt or anything." Bucky said 

Bucky left for a minute and went to his mom's room and said "Mama Jolie is very sad and crying can she sleep in my room with me she thinks her mama is going to get hurt like her daddy and not come home."
