Will and Nico were both arrested and are waiting in a holding cell for their friends to bail them out and they get to talking. Swearing

Will's POV

"Just wait here for a couple hours," I hear an officer's voice say. He walked into view with a person in tow. He was probably the most handsome man I had ever laid eyes on. He had brown hair and brown eyes. He was wearing black ripped jeans and a band t-shirt. The officer opened the cell and he walked in, and promptly sat on the floor.

We were the only two people in the holding cell, and I sat down across from him.

"Hi, I'm Will Solace," I said, in my annoyingly optimistic way. He just stared at me as if I were insane.

"Why are you in here?" He asked, not bothering to introduce himself.

"Oh,that. I was walking past an animal testing site and I just got so mad at the horrible people who would hurt animals like that, so I broke in and tried to free all the bunnies." I looked up at him and he looked almost impressed. "So what about you?"

"Oh nothing major, just some low-key graffiti. There was this wall and it was calling to me, so..." He looked down and started playing with this ring on his hand. He made no effort to talk and neither did I until the silence became to uncomfortable not to say anything.

"Where are you from?  I asked, just wanting to make some sort of conversation. "Oh, and what is your name?" I add, haphazardly.

"I'm Nico. I'm originally from Italy, but I've been living in New York since I was 16."

"Ah," I say, "that's cool. Can you speak any Italian?"

"Yeah penso che tu sia carino."

"That is so cool. I used to live in Texas before moving to New York last year." I say, in a desperate attempt to keep the conversation going.

"So, ummm," Nico says and I cut him off.

"That all you can say? Umm?" I ask, and Nico smiles.

"Just for the the record, I can say more than um."

"Really," I say incredulously and Nico nods.

"Sure, um, oh, uuhhhh, and fuck." Nico laughs and it is the most amazing sound I ever heard.

"You're staring," Nico says. "I'm not," I say but a blush forms on my face when I realize that I am staring.
"You want to play twenty questions?" I ask, praying he'll say yes.

"Alright, that doesn't sound so bad."

"Alright, Let me just think of a question.." I say in a clearly sarcastic tone. "What to ask, what to ask," I ponder.
"Okay, I have a good one."
"That only took a hundred years, give or take a few."
"Don't be rude," I exclaim in a wounded way and fall back on the floor. "What," I say, being extra dramatic, "is your favorite colour?"

"Really Will, That's the best you could come up with, What's your favorite colour? Wow," Nico remarks sarcastically and I playfully punch him in the arm.

"Rude," I say laughing.

"I try," Nico responds, smirk clear on his face.

"You gonna answer the question, or?" I ask, steering us back to 20 questions.

Nico rolls his eyes. "I like the colour black," he says, shrugging his shoulders and I groan dramatically.

"Black is not a  colour, Nico," I respond and he glares at me.

"Fine, My favorite colour is Navy blue," he says smirking and I sigh, shaking my head.

"Hopeless," I mutter and he laughs. "Okay, you're turn," I say and Nico closes his eyes.

"What is your favorite colour?" Nico asks back and I smile.

"I like yellow or green. I feel like the symbolize life, I guess, I don't really know." I respond, going deeper into the question than I had to.

"Wow," Nico looks impressed, "that's deep. I just like black because I think it looks cool." I laugh and Nico smiles. "You're turn."

"Okay," I say, taking a deep breath, "If I asked you for your number, what are the odds I would get it?" I ask and Nico looks shocked before his face breaks out into the biggest grin I've ever seen.

"I'd say your odds are pretty good," He responds and I breathe a sigh of relief.

I open my mouth, about to ask for his number when Nico holds up his hand. "Not so fast, Solace, it's my turn now," Nico smirks and I groan.

"Hmm, what to ask? what to ask?" Nico ponders sarcastically and I put my face in my hands. "Okay, okay. What do you do?" he asks, more seriously and I look up.

"I'm a doctor," I respond sheepishly, "I work over at the children's hospital."

"Nifty," Nico responds and I raise my eyebrows at him, amused.

"Nifty?"

"Shut up," Nico says and I laugh.

"Now, can I have your number?" Nico turns red before pulling a pen out of his coat pocket and handing it to me.

"(123)-456-7890," He says and I quickly write in on my hand and hand the pen back to him as the cops had taken our phone. Speak of the devil.

I hear footsteps coming into the room and I look up, seeing the same police officer who brought Nico in.

"Will, You're free to go," he says, clearly not caring,"Your friend Lou ellen bailed you out," and I shudder, because I know this means a lecture from her.

I stand up and walk out the cell. I turn back and look at Nico, who mouths Call me, and I nod.

TIME SKIP, CAUSE LIFE

"And you have to take pride in your job, Will," Lou ellen says, but I tune her out. We are currently sitting in her car and she drives me home. Well, drives, meaning sit in heavy traffic for hours on end.

"Are you even listening to me?" Lou ellen asks and I shake my head distractedly.

"I met someone," I say sheepishly and Lou gasps.

"You did?"

"Yeah, in the jail cell," I respond and Lou grins.

"Tell me all about him," she says and that's how we spend the rest of the car ride, gossiping about Nico.
