Part 11

Coffee shop AU Both Will and Nico are baristas and they are left behind everyday  to close up and do the dishes, and they bond over how their coworkers are assholes. SWEARING

Nico's POV

I worked at a coffee shop with my friends, Will, Hazel, Jason, and Reyna.Hazel ran the place and the rest of us worked as baristas doing different shifts. But at the end of every day, Hazel, Jason and Reyna leave, meaning Will and I are left to clean up and close up shop. It sucks.

"Bye," Hazel calls as she walks out the door. The bell dinging as the door slams shut.  "Damn," Will swears, "they always leave us to finish cleanup. I getting sick of it."

"I agree," I complain, "They are always the first into work, what if we just prank them."
"That," Will agrees, "would be a stellar idea."
Will smiles at me and I look down before Will can see my blush.

See, I secretly had a crush on Will, and I mean who wouldn't? He is cute, tall, nice, funny, and sarcastic. But I mean, I would never make a move on my best friend.

"Okay, We need a bucket, whipped cream, and string," I say, counting off my fingers and Will smiled evilly, running into the kitchen.

"Found some whipped cream and chocolate syrup," Will calls out and I laugh.

"Any string back there?"

"Check under the counter," Will say, voice echoing through the empty cafe and I reach under the cash register, checking in all the drawers for some string, eventually finding some in a drawer buried under about 17 magazines.

"Wow," I remark, closing the drawer, "Hazel is a hoarder," and Will snorts.

"Okay, Let's get to work." We begin to fill the bucket with whipped cream and chocolate. I tie the string to the bucket and the door so that when they open the door, the bucket will tip and spill all over them.

"This is brilliant," I say, locking the door behind me and bundling up against the cold wind as we begin to walk in the dark towards our separate apartments.

"I'll say," Will remarks, pulling on gloves and a scarf and a hat.

"Okay, I get it's cold out, Solace, but it's not that cold," I say laughing as her glares at me.

"I get cold easily," He says and I roll my eyes as he shoves my shoulder. "Hey, I have a question," he starts.

"Shoot."

"I have this friend and I really like him and I kinda want to ask him out, but I'm not sure how to. Any thoughts?"

I note that he said and silently curse when my heart rate speeds up. "Well what does he like, I mean what do you know about him?" I stutter out, hoping Will can't notice that red on my cheeks.

Will looks over at me and smiles. "Well, he is smart and funny and he paints these really amazing pictures and he is currently at school to be a forensic pathologist."

I blush, because that is exactly what I am in school for. Will looks over and smirks at me and continues.

"He is absolutely handsome and I love to crush him at video games," Will says and I glare at him. We've stopped walking now where Will and I part ways back to our apartments and we are just staring at each other in the middle of the sidewalk.

"So, How do you think I should ask?" Will is smirking at me and I huff.

"Outright," I say and Will smiles.

"What do you mean?" He asks titling his head and acting confused.

I grab his head and pull it down to my level so we are about a fraction of an inch apart. Will breathes shakily.

"Just ask him," I breathe and begin to walk away. I feel a smirk forming on my face and when Will grabs my arm.

"Will you go out with me? He asks and I put my hand on my chin as if I am thinking deeply about it.

"Hmm, I'm not sure," Will glares at me and playfully punches me on the arm. "Okay," I say and Will smiles.

"Cool," He says and I smile too, happy that Will finally asked me out.

"See you tomorrow?" I say and Will nods, but he still looks a little disappointed so I give him a quick peck on the lips and walk off towards my apartment and I can't keep the smile off my face.

NEXT SHIFT TIME SKIP CAUSE I CAN

As I walked into the cafe, I noticed Hazel, Reyna, Jason glaring at me while Will was standing by the register looking sheepish and amused at the same time. I don't know ho that is possible.

"Hey," I say as casually as possible, remembering about the prank. "Who opened the door?" I ask calmly and Will snorts.

"I did," Jason says under his breath and smile.

"Serves you right for leaving us to clean up," I retort and Will nods, still trying to hold back giggles.

"Guys?" Hazel warns and look over at her.

"What little sis?" I say and Jason groans.

"No fair! He can't just play the sibling card to get out of this," Jason practically whines and Hazel groans.

"Nico, You really shouldn't have done this--"

"Will was partially responsible,"I say pointing at Will and Hazel glares at me, effectively shutting me up.

"You AND Will really should not have done this. But, It was kind of funny, so, Back to work," Hazel calls and I smile as Reyna and Jason head out to attend class.

As soon as they are gone, Hazel turns back towards us and smiles. "Well, I should go make sure they didn't steal any muffins," She says hurrying off to the back room.

"She left on purpose, didn't she?" Will asks.

"Yep."

"She knows about us?"

"Yep."

"Do you want to get her back?"

"Yep."

Make out?"

"Okay."

And that is how Hazel found us 5 minutes later; me sitting on the counter top, legs wrapped around Will as we snogged.
