Chapter 6

You know that feeling you have, when you write a chapter and post it and after a week or so, when you're ready to write another chapter, you realize wattpad messed with you and never posted your previous chapter? Yeah. I know that feeling all too well


So here ya go, enjoy the chapter you guys were supposed to read a week ago (but thanks to wattpad...)



Damon's P.O.V

I was crashing at James place when Mom called me.

"Damon baby, can you come over? It's kind of urgent" Mom said swiftly.

I immediately jolted from James's couch.

"Is everything alright mum?" I asked.

"Nothing to worry about my dear. I'll tell you when you come here. Hurry please" She said reassuringly and cut the call.

I collected my stuff from James couch and bid him a goodbye, explaining why I needed to go.

The drive to my parent's house was short. I quickly parked in the garage and practically ran to the door and rang the bell.

Mom opened the door and hugged me. I gently pulled away and searched her face.

"Mom, what happened? Is Dad okay?" I questioned. Last time this happened, Dad had had a heart attack.

"Yeah. Your dad's perfectly fine. He's not home right now actually. I just wanted to talk about something important" She said motioning me to come in.

"Oh Alright. Who is home right now? Xavier?" I asked.

"Oh no. No one's home. You go sit in the living room, I'll be back with something to eat" She smiled and patted me on the back.

I loosened my tie and took off my coat, placing it on the sofa and sat beside it.

Mom came back after a while with coffee and chocolate cookies.

I grinned.

"God! I missed these." I rubbed my hands together. "When did you bake em?" "Oh just now. I knew just how much you liked these." She said while handing me my coffee and placing two cookies on my plate.

I frowned.

"Just two?" I tried not to whine.

"You already eat so much chocolate. This much sugar's not good for health." She scolded me like I was an infant.

"So, what is it that you wanted to talk to me about?" I questioned while she sat across me on the sofa.

She hesitated but then sighed.

"Well...your Dad's gone to meet Lily. The girl you're supposed to wed. To seek her permission."

"What? Are you kidding me? You guys didn't ask her before? And wait a minute, why does Dad has to talk to her? Isn't Uncle Will Supposed to talk to her about this? Last time I checked, He was her Dad." I scowled.

"She doesn't live with Will. In fact, they have not talked to each other since God knows when." She stated.

"Why?"

"I don't know alright?"

"And what if she rejects this proposal" I asked even though I knew that wouldn't ever happen.

Mom gave me a lop-sided smile.

"Even you don't believe that son. Who would refuse you?"

I shook my head and the doorbell rang suddenly.

"Looks like your Dad's here!" She ejaculated and ran towards the door.

Dad entered the living room with a scowl on his and Mom came after him with a worried expression.

"What happened Dav?" Mom inquired.

Dad loosened his tie and pushed a chair aside, but then sat on it. He started massaging his temples.

"She said no" He said after a minute of silence "She rejected."

Mom gasped and immediately reached towards Dad.

"She rejected me?" I asked unbelievingly.

Dad exhaled and then stood up, his jaw clenched. He walked towards me and poked me in the chest.

"Yes, she rejected you! Is it so hard to believe? You're not some prince alright? She had every right to reject you. Not every girl is like those leeches hanging at your arms all the time! She can do whatever the hell she wants! What did you though huh? That no one can resist that pretty face of yours? Well guess again son! Because SHE DID!" He yelled the last part and took short breaths. Mom eyed me worriedly but rushed over to dad. I just gawped at him, shocked by everything. It took me a while to recover but then I cleared my throat.

"So..." I began. "I guess the arranged wedding plan is cancelled?"

Dad glared at me.

"No it's not. You're still going to have an arranged marriage. I really wanted Lily to be my daughter-in-law but I guess that can't happen anymore. Even though I'm pretty sure you both are meant to be. But now, that she has rejected you, I'll talk

with Rodrick about his daughter. What's her name? Ahh, Sara right? You know her don't you?" Dad smiled. The fakest smile I've ever seen on his face. He knew about Sara. She was, in dad's language, one of my many "Leeches".

"No. I do not approve of her! No, anyone but Sara! That girl doesn't even know how to talk with her parents. You know what she said to her mother?" Mom said with a furious expression. "Martha was scolding her about her "inappropriate" behaviour with guys and guess what Sara replied? She said "Oh, shut up mum. Do I look like I give a rat's ass about you or your lecture? Save your breath" Can you believe it? That girl, is not what I want in a daughter-in-law. JUST NO!" Mom yelled, almost.

"Well...either its Lily or Sara" Dad fake smiled, again. What is he thinking? Something's definitely wrong. "So, either you somehow get Lily to agree in a week or...well, you know who your bride will be then!"

He left the room after that, saying he needed a shower. I could swear I saw a ghost of a smirk on his face.

Mom turned to me after he left the room.

"Son, I do not approve of Sara, you understand me? I swear to God, I will seriously disown you if you married Sara." She glared at me. "You heard your dad. Go to Lily. Persuade her. Do whatever it takes! Make her fall in love with you. And don't worry about time, I'll buy you more. I'll talk to Dav about it. Just...not Sara" She pleaded.

She was right. Not Sara. She literally the most rudest and desperate person I've ever come across. I wish I never would have met her.

I sighed and patted Mom's back.

"Okay. I'll do something. Don't you worry okay?" I smiled at her and she helped me to put on my coat. She knew I wouldn't stay for dinner. I never do.

I bid her Goodbye and opened my car's door. Wondering, what the hell I was supposed to do.

Why did I put myself into this mess?
