Chapter 4: New And Improved, Squidbeak Splatoon

Agent 8's POV

"Why are you here OCTOLING! Who sent you?!" The female inkling in a yellow coat, black boots, and a headset similar to Agent 3 yelled at me.

"P-please you've got the w-wrong idea!" I whimpered as my hands were up, being pinpointed to the ground and held at gunpoint.

"Get away from her!" Agent 3 yelled as he shoved the female Inkling to some test dummies to my left.

"What are you doing? That's an Octoling! You should be on my side!" The Inkling yelled at Agent 3 as he took away a weapon similar to a P-90 in her hand.

"This is a good Octoling." Agent 3 said as he walked towards me and gave me his hand. I started to cry behind his back as I got up

"Never heard of that before.." The Inkling said wiping the dust off her jacket and picking up her P-90. "Why are you two even here?" She questioned.

"Agent 4 what the heck is going on out here?" The same figure said through the hollow tunnel walking towards a shack.

"Marie what's happening?" Another female Inkling shouted from the tunnel in a pink beanie and long tentacles.

"Wait a second..." Agent 3 said quietly. "Marie.. CALLIE?! Is it really you?" He yelled in shock.

"THREEEEE!" Callie yelled running towards Agent 3 as she gave him a hug. Marie apparently came along and joined the group hug. 

"Long time no see, Agent 3. Boy have you missed a.. lot, and that's an understatement. Marie said to Agent 3, sweatdropping.

"I can tell." He sweatdropped aswell. "Who's that?" He said pointing at the female figure that attacked me.

"That, is Agent 4 of the New Squidbeak Splatoon! I recruited her while you were away doing.. whatever it is you were doing. She helped me rescue Callie and saved the Great Zapfish! Again..."

"It's been quite the adventure without you, Three!" Callie said in her usual energetic tone. 

"Wow! That puts at us 7 agents. Dang." Agent 3 said.

"Woah wait... 7?  Last time I heard we only had 4 not including Gramps." 

I chimed in. "DJ_Hyperfresh and MC_Princess. (Pearl and Marina) Helped me and Agent 3 through the Deepsea Metro."

"Putting then at Agent's 5 and 6." Agent 3 added. "And this is Agent 8!" He exclaimed as he pointed his arms at me.

He then went on to explain how Captain Cuttlefish recruited me as Agent 8, and how the 80 tests I had to go through in order to reach the promised land, only to face Tartar possessing 3's body in order to continue his plans and how we both stopped him.

"Woah.." Callie, Marie, and Agent 4 awed. "You guys had quite the adventure down there." Marie said to me and 3.

"Good to have you back 3! And Agent 8 as our newest recruit of the New and Improved, Squidbeak Splatoon!

"Kinda odd how you skipped Agent 7" Agent 4 asked ominously.

"Cuttlefish told me it was because I was an Octoling! You know, 8 limbs.." I told Agent 4 honestly.

"Seems legit to me." Marie said nonchalantly.

"I buy it!" Callie added.

".... Alright, if they say so." Agent 4 agreed. She began walking towards me.

"Welcome!" She smiled at me and gave me a kind Woomy!

"Ngyes." Agent 3 added winking towards me. I blushed slightly. 

Agent 3's POV

"Sorry to break it up." Marie said to the three of us. "Agent 3 and 8, would you happen to know where Gramps is? We haven't seen him in a while." Marie said getting her Splat Brella out of the shack.

"Oh yea, he's sleeping in Marina and Pearl's studio. We could head on over right now if you want to." I explained to Marie.

"I'm fine with that, everyone else?" Marie asked all of us.

"Roger that Marie." Agent 4 said walking towards the manhole.

"Me too!" Callie yelled energetically skipping towards Agent 4.

"My idea after all." I chuckled as he walked over with his hands in his Hero Jacket.

"Y-yea sure!" I said as I walked over to Agent 3 and the others.

"Alright, it's settled. Let's go everyon-," Marie was about to finish before Agent 4 interrupted her.

"Hey.. I forgot to ask, what are you two guys's name's?" Agent 4 questioned me and 8.

"U-umm..." Agent 8 tried to speak, but was clearly startled by the question.

"Nathan." I replied abruptly. Agent 8 looked at me and began blushing. "I should've told you earlier 8 I'm sorry. I just forgot" I apologized to 8. "Anyway, what's your name Agent 4?" I asked her.

"Riley, we both have some cool names, hehe." She said giving me a noogie which I didn't particularly enjoy.

"Hey! Stop it!" I exclaimed, but I started laughing and accepted it as I playfully tried swatting 4's hands away.

"So, what's your name Agent 8?" Marie asked which made me and 4 hault as we stood still for a good 5 seconds.

Agent 8 just stood still looking at the floor. I butted in, "Err.. she hasn't really thought about that yet-" I was about to finish before I heard Agent 8...

"Olivia..." She said quietly as she held her arms together. "I've been thinking about it for a while now.. I really l-like it a lot!" She stuttered happily.

I ran towards Agent 8 the fastest I've ever ran before, and gave her a gentle hug. 

She hugged me back and she ran towards the manhole as she pulled my arm with both of her hands as she turned into her Octo form and I followed her in. 

"Nice name you got there, Olivia." I looked at her in my squid form.

"Same to you, Nathan." She said back.

I kinda wanted to make Agent 8 some type of a laid back, older sister kinda character to Agent 3 just to make the character development in the future more understanding and other junk.

I didn't really have Nathan planned out for Agent 3, it just randomly popped into my head the night earlier and went with it. Olivia has been on my mind before I even published this novel. I had to do it because of the Octoling, Olivia, O, you get it lol.

Riley seems like a sort of edgy older name for 4 so I went with that, not much explanation.

Character development will start shining in the next couple of chapters, Turf Wars and new friends will be revealed in Chapter 4! Stay tuned.
