"I'm so sorry, but I'm still not ready,
I prioritize my studies, I know you understand it.
Well, most of the times I long for this kind of relationship,
But at the end of the day, I know I can't do them both, maybe in time."

I told him that, and he just listened.
He smiled, opened his mouth and told me,
"Can I be your bestfriend?
I'm a man, I know, but we can be bestfriends."

I didn't answer. I just stared at him.
I do not know what to say, honestly,
But something crossed my mind,
Something that is very familiar.

"Why are you all like that, huh?
Every man I turned down
Asks me if they can be my bestfriend.
I do not know, but why is that so?"

He laughed, a genuine laugh.
"You know what, you're still very innocent.
All of us wanted to be your friends
'Cause that's the only way we can draw near you."

"I think, that's unfair for you, guys,"
I blurted out, stomping my feet on the ground.
"It's not, we offered it, we wanted it.
We just want to be with you, even though it's  for something not so romantic."
