"..What?"
Maya looks at me in puzzlement.

"You heard me. I want you to avoid him as much as you can and if for some reason your paths ever crossed with each other, I want you to hit him hard on that spot and run away with every fiber in your body."

"Wait what? What spot?"

"Are you kidding me? THAT spot!"
I yelled as my hands gesture to that spot in between the thighs.

"Omo.. My head hurts.. I'm not in the mood to play charades."
Maya complained as she rubbed the back of her head.

...

"I am convinced that hit from the volleyball killed your two remaining brain cells, Maya."

"Ah shut up. Also why the sudden warning? Is this because he kicked your butt during volleyball? Or are you jealous that we bonded and got closer?"
She said with that mischievous grin on her face, obviously not getting the point.
Tsk, this kid.

"Yah. First of all, I am the best. Second, I'm your boyfriend now so whatever I do or say will always be the best in your eyes and you have to admit that I am..Indeed.The.Best."
I said defensively.

"Second.."
I paused to give that thick skull of hers another flick.

"I'm being serious right now. Something's not right about that kid from the moment I saw him at the beach. He was already looking and examining us from afar even before we were playing volleyball. He was just waiting for a chance to get closer to us."

And like a video tape, my mind rewinded, bringing us back to earlier this afternoon.

FLASHBACK

"Maya!"
Jay called as he sprinted his way towards Maya, making me froze on the spot. My head slowly turned to look at the both of them.

"Y-yea?"

"Um... I'm sorry for suddenly passing the ball to you before. I should have gave you a heads up or some sort. Mianhae, it was my fault, not yours."

"Gwenchanayo, it's alright really. It's actually my first time playing volleyball. I didn't know what I was doing anyways."

They both then broke down into laughter and practiced serving the ball with each other. A normal person would have seen it as a normal situation of a good friend teaching the other about volleyball. But I knew something wasn't right.

Just then, I caught Jay looking straight at me as he flashed a smile. Mischief and evil lurking in his lips and eyes. It sent me shivering down my spine. Something is definitely not right about this guy. That little rise in the corner of his mouth was oblivious to combined with the cool detachment in his eyes. As if succeeding being on Maya's good side was giving him inner delight. He was savoring the moment.

I then snapped out of my thoughts.

"Maya, do you remember that time during the game? When he came over to teach you how to serve the ball?"

"Of course I do, he was really helpful and nice. Unlike a certain someone."
says Maya in a slightly sardonic tone.
