She has a knife. My breathing starts to quicken, and my mouth dries. What is she going to do to me? Goosebumps cover my body.
"Someone will find me" I cry, out of breath
"It may be to late by then" she says, twirling the knife in her hand
"What do you mean?" I ask.
She answers by ripping the blade down my arm in a quick motion. I cry out in pain, begging for her to stop.
"Stop crying!" Tiffany yells. Piercing my shoulder with the blade, a crimson trail rolls down the length of my arm and drips to the floor. Before I can say anything, I feel her grab a fistful of my hair.
"Chop, chop" she snickers. Surrounding me on the floor is a carpet of my hair.
****
It's been hours since Tiffany left. By the amount of hair on the floor I am assuming I may have an uneven inch left on my head.I now have a cut on my leg, a gash on my thigh and a scratch on my cheek. Along with the ones on my arm. I hear a loud bang, followed by the creaking of a door and a light.
"Charlie? Are you in here?" I hear the familiar voice of Nash yelling out to me.
"I'm here!" I cry out
The light comes closer, meeting my eyes.
"Jessie! Are you okay?" Nash tries to remove the chains.
The chains will not budge. "Crap" Nash looks around the room for something to break them.
I start feeling lightheaded and everything begins to blur. "Babe?" I whisper
"Stay with me sweetheart. Try and stay awake. I found an axe, I'm going to get you out of here."
I feel the restraints being pulled away, and Nash's strong arms around me.
"My hero" I mumble.
Then everything is black.
*****Déjà vu. That's what it feels like when I wake up in a hospital room. Only this time there is a feeling of warmth around my left hand. I look over to see a sleeping Nash, his hand holding mine. He looks so sweet with his head resting on the edge of the bed.
A doctor walks into the room and asks how I am feeling.
"I'm okay, but my throat is sore and my head hurts." I answer in a bit of a raspy voice.
"I figured it would be. When you came here you were extremely dehydrated. Along with the amount of blood you lost, it explains you blacked out. I was told that you were held captive for three days without water or food." The doctor looks at his chart and writes something down.
"Three days?" I ask incredulous.
"Yes, this young man brought you to the emergency room two days ago." He says, gesturing to Nash.
Wow. I remember what happened at the cellar and when Nash showed up, but what ever occurred after that is blank.
The sleepy Nash stirs, and I am met with a dazzling smile. "Oh Baby, I'm so happy you are awake. I was so scared." He looks at me with bloodshot eyes.
"You are the reason I'm okay" I smile "Thank you"
The doctor cuts in "your wounds have been bandaged and one of them had to be stitched. Remember to change the dressing every day. Come back in a week to get your stitches removed. You are free to go as soon as you sign the paperwork at the front desk."
With that, the doctor leaves the room. Nash sits on the hospital bed next to me, pulling me into his arms. "Nothing like that will happen again. The police caught Tiffany, she is going to rot in jail with my brother. When they found out he was a part of the plan, they added extra time to his sentence."
"Okay. I just hope your family don't blame me." I mumble into his shoulder.
He pulls back, looking into my eyes "They won't blame you. They love you, and so do I."
"I love you too" I answer, leaning in for a kiss.
