It was November of 1809 , set in a small town house in Newfoundland, there was loud wails of pain. Margaret Smith, spouse of Charles Smith, was in labor, it had gone on for hours. At 4:36 am, Margaret had given birth to girl, who she named Florence Smith.
Years later, the little girl grew to have long red hair with a very pretty face, when Florence was 7, she had knocked over a lamp, setting a room ablaze, she ran to her mother, who was in the kitchen, the stench of smoke was hidden in the strong smell of the dinner she had been making. The fire was spreading quickly, Margaret had finally noticed the smell once Florence ran up to her with worried eyes. She rushed her outside while the town set the fire out. Margaret had been too worried about her daughter that she forgot about her sleeping husband upstairs. After the fire had been put out, a burnt body was found.
The widow mourned her late husband for months, but she realized she would be shunned by her beloved town if she stayed a single mother. She quickly married a year after her dead husbands death. She was so grief strike, she couldn't show that, so she decided to start abusing her daughter.
Florence despised her mother for forgetting her father so quickly, as a young student at the age of 11 she would make a habit of breaking her schools desks, chairs, chalk and chalk boards. She would often tease the girls by pulling their hair, or stabbing them with thumbtacks. At home, she would mess up her parents work, and destroyed their furniture. Margaret hated her for years to come.
When Florence was 15, all of her step fathers belonging and money were stolen. Her mother divorced, saying "A man without money is useless". She then remarried a wealthy man who had a snobby personality. Margaret became pregnant soon after and had a boy named James. He was spoiled and always cried. Florence hated him. When James was 7 months, Florence tried to play with him, but it didn't end well. She was left with him for the day, but his face disgusted her, she threw a large blanket over the top of his head and went back to her room.
When her parents got home, they went to James room, and were both terrified at there suffocated dead son. Margaret charged into Florences room, pulling her by the hair and yelling at her "You killed my son and my husband you damned little devil!" She screamed hauling Florence onto the familys horse. They had rode for hours and hours into unknown forest until they stopped.
Margaret practically threw Florence in rage down onto the muddy forest floor. She rode off leaving a bruised, beat up Florence, she was scared for her life, there was animals that would probably kill her in a second, or that would eat her alive.
Hours later she was crying her heart out, not caring what animal heard her, she didn't care if she died, there was no way she would survive on her own put there. Hours had passed until she heard a rustle in the bushes. She panicked when two large bears tumbled out. Being unnoticed by the two creatures she slowly backed away, but her legs gave up and she fell to the ground with a thud. The Bear's necks snapped in her direction, they walked up to her. She stared into their eyes, there was something unusual. The bears started to sniff her, then, something remarkable happened.
