_____"It might not seem like it now, but I will always love you..."
_____________
It had been a fews since that night in Calum's apartment. You left without anymore words. You knew what he said was out of anger, however, it was still hard to comprehend what Calum had said.
Weeks of suppressed emotion came un announced. You and Calum loved each other dearly, so having so much time apart felt unusual.
As well as this, your brothers condition seemed to becoming worse, however, he remained the happy, independent person he is. This made your days brighter.
Over the weeks without any contact from Calum, you and your brother reconnected. You learnt that he had become quite a successful writer in the U.S, something he dreamed of when you were children. While you were happy at your brothers presence, you couldn't help but feel empty on the inside. You knew that there was the chance he could die and without the emotional support of another half, you felt your self struggling to comprehend what was going on.
However, a month later your worst nightmare became reality.
Only then did find Calum find out that the unknown man in the tabloid was in fact your long lost brother.
He had past away during the night, the evil cancer finally winning the battle he had fought. You were now alone once again heart borken and shattered.
Guilty was an understatement for Calum. It felt as though his world had come crashing down, as not only had he betrayed his other half by not listening, he was there to comfort you in your time of need. He accused you of betraying his trust, yet here he was leaving you broken.
He knew he need to do something. The thought of you being alone physically hurt him. He should've just listened, at least then you could've shared this burden together.
Within days of knowing your whereabouts, Calum had surprised you at your 'new' apartment. He was distressed and distraught. He felt sick and racked with guilt. You were at your most vulnerable and here he was trying to fix your relationship.
But he was desperate. He wanted to be able to give you his all. He wanted to help you through this. You had lost someone you love and needed time to grieve, but Calum knew you needed that extra support.
When you saw Calum stood in your door way, you couldn't help but sob. You had lost so much and seeing Calum made you feel a little relief.
You were angry he wasn't there in the begining, that he didn't want to listen, but you knew he needed his time.It was obvious thst he finally knew of your situation, as the first thing he said was "im so sorry Y/N."
Of course that was not going to be enough to fix what was going on, but for the first time in weeks, you felt some sort of aid.
You loved Calum and you knew he would hate himself for letting you go through this alone. Making him feel bad about this was not the answer. You needed each other and in that moment when his arms wrapped around your body, you felt at peace.
