January 20th,
Dear Diary,
Steven and I have definitely grown closer over the past two days. No, not that close. He said he's cool with me being asexual. That was awesome.
He's picking me up in a few minutes. We're going to see a movie at a theater nearby.
I've somehow gotten to the point of no longer caring about what I look like when we're together. Alone, that is. If we're in public, I need to put in at least some effort.
I just heard him pull up.
"Hey, Steven," Mum greeted him as he walked through the front door.
"Hey, Mrs. Barnes."
I walked downstairs. "Hey, Steve."
"Hey, Charles." we walked outside to his car. Like a true gentleman, he opened the door for me and closed it behind. He turned the radio on quietly, and it was a peaceful ride to the theater.
We picked up the tickets easily; Steven had gotten good seats. We sat down with a big container of popcorn and I snuggled into Steven's shoulder. He wrapped an arm around me as the movie began.
"What'd you think?" Steven grinned as we exited the theater. I shrugged.
"Quite dumb. Very cliche."
He chuckled. "I agree. Honestly, how much more cliche can you get than that scene where he kisses her? Romances these days."
I grinned up at him. "True."
We exited the theater and Steven and I walked hand in hand until the crosswalks. There we waited until it was safe to cross. The small white walking man popped up where the red hand had just been, and we walked with a throng of people.
Honking. A lot. Screams. I'm not sure who was screaming. And then, silence. I was floating...
"Charles!"
