(NICKI IS 9 MONTHS PREGNANT, NICKI'S POV)
I woke up staring at the wall like every other morning. I turn on my side and struggled to get up. I wobbled into the twin's empty nursery, holding my stomach.
I can't wait to bring them home. I'm due anytime now. Hopefully today, June 18th. I'm having two girls, and Safaree and I have decided on the names.
Ava Nicole Samuels and Avery Claire Samuels. Perfect, right?
I hear a knock at the already opened door. I turn to see Safaree smiling. He walked closer to me, knelt down and kissed my stomach. I felt a kick.
"Good morning babies." He says. He stands up and kisses me. "Where's Makalah?" I ask.
"Downstairs eating breakfast. I made you plate."
"No thanks. I don't feel good."
We went downstairs and Makalah jumped up. "Mommy are the A girls okay?" She asks. She calls Ava and Avery the "A girls". I keep telling her they're not here yet, but she doesn't care. "They're perfect. My back hurts..but they're okay." I sigh, sitting on the couch. "Hand me my phone."
I called Arianna.
"Hey, what's up?"
"Come over, I'm bored."
"On my way." She said, and hung up. Ughhh my head hurts so bad. And my stomach and my back and my feet. "Faree can you give me a massage?" I whine.
"I would but I gotta get to work. See you at 6." He says, kissing my cheek and walking out of the door. Ari came in a couple minutes later. she sat her keys down on the coffee table. "Hey.."
"Did you have morning sickness yet?" She asks.
"No..I just feel like shit this morning."
"Isn't that normal?"
"I guess." I say. "Want some Advil?" She asks, handing me the pill bottle. "I'm not allowed to." I whisper with my eyes closed. "Wanna go somewhere?"
"I look fat as fuck and I don't feel like putting on makeup. No."
"Come on you look beautiful. And you literally have days...maybe hours left of pregnancy. You should show it off!"
"I hope it's hours. I need them out. Like now." I say. "What does it feel like?"
"Like two aliens are wrestling inside of you."
The door opened and Safaree walked in. "What are you doing here?" I ask. "I left because I wanna spend time with you."
"Well we're not doing anything soooo.."
And then I felt it. There was water under me, and I quickly stood up. "What?" Arianna grabs my arm. "They're coming." I say. "Really?!" Makalah yells. "Mhhm. Faree get the bag." I yell as Arianna walks me outside.
I get in the passenger seat of the car, Safaree gets in the drivers seat and Ari and Makalah were in the back. "Ooo this is so exciting!" Ari yells.
(4 HOURS LATER)
Ava was born at 1:16 PM, and Avery was at 1:19. Both of them are 7 pounds, 6 ounces, and they both have heads full of brown curly hair. "Here ya go." The nurse says, handing them to me. A couple tears fell as I looked at their huge hazel eyes. I handed Ava to Safaree.
(SAFAREE'S POV)
I kissed Ava's forehead and she smiled. I noticed her little dimples, just like Nicki's. I smiled and a tear slipped from my eye. "Daddy can I hold her?" Makalah asks. I bent down next to her.
"Okay be careful." I whisper. I held my arms under hers and she laughed. "They look like you and mommy." She smiles. I took Ava from her and sat down. She's so beautiful. I gave her back to Nicki and someone knocked on the door. "Come in."
(NICKI'S POV)
The nurse came in with some papers. "Okay, you had a successful delivery with no complications so you can take them home in about 18 hours, after all the tests are done. Can I ask you to fill out these papers while I take the babies to get weighed upstairs?" She asks.
"Um sure." I handed them off to her and she set them down in the little crib with wheels. I watched her wheel them out of the room and close the door.
After I was done filling everything out, the nurse came back with my babies. They were asleep this time. I looked at their hospital bracelets to see who is who.
I lay Ava in my lap and Safaree took Avery. "Hey I'm gonna take Makalah home. She looks sleepy." Ari says. I look over to Makalah who was knocked out on the couch.
"Alright. See ya there." I answer. She kisses the baby's heads and walks out with Makalah in her arms. "They're so beautiful." I say. "We did a good job."
I giggle. Ava opened her eyes and yawned. "Hey baby..." I whisper, pulling her up into my arms. They both have on matching purple onesies and pink booties (baby shoes). The only way to tell them apart is by their bracelets.
Ava started crying, which made Avery cry. This is gonna be a long couple of months.
