ℴ𝓅𝒽ℯ𝓁𝒾𝒶 𝒽𝒶𝒹 𝓃ℯ𝓋ℯ𝓇 tried so diligently in her life to look beautiful. she worked so meticulously on her face it felt almost raw. she learned, as every girl does, that right before a big event was not the time to experiment with a new makeup look to impress a boy. she got more and more vexed every time she marred a wing on her eyeliner or the pink rouge was sitting incorrectly on her cheeks.

she had asked charlie to sit with her in the bathroom as she prepared for the night. he whined about her getting ready three hours before the event, and yet he still took a chair and a book from his room and brought it to the restroom to accompany her. every quarter of an hour, charlie would have to stop her from self-defenestration.

when ophelia would interrogate charlie for his professional opinion, he insisted she looked good and that he would try to hit on her if he didn't know how absolutely insufferable she was. lia promised him that when he would meet his demise it would be by her hands.

the rest of the men finally entered the shared bathroom around the time ophelia had put on her nicest dress.

"woah, lia," meeks said as he entered the bathroom.

lia ignored him and just gave him a rude hand gesture. she was focusing on her hair which was just adding to her indignation. her hair was always the thing that would irritate her the most.

more of the boys followed meeks into the bathroom, many of them wanted to say something to compliment ophelia, but meeks shook his head as they all entered, indicating that they might get decapitated.

charlie had disappeared from his seat and went into a stall to put on the final touches of his outfit for the night.

"beautiful baby." pitts complimented himself in the mirror. he, like the rest of the boys, was fixing his hair and making sure that he looked dapper.

"beautiful baby. henley hall, here i come." meeks echoed.

cameron fought his way to a mirror, "excuse me, just a moment. yes. you're so cute." he crooned to himself as he ran a comb through his hair.

lia, who was finally satisfied with the way she looked, was back to her normal mood, "aw, thanks cameron. i didn't know you felt that way about me," she retorted, fluffing up her hair in the mirror.

"shut up lia," todd came by and tried to mess up cameron's hair. "come on, todd. i'm trying to fix this."

todd finally laid eyes on lia, and he had to catch his breath for a second. he really had never seen anyone quite so beautiful. he swore that not even aphrodite could compare to the figure in front of him.

he finally shook himself out of his trance before anyone could notice, "come on, nuwanda. you're gonna miss neil's entrance." he called into a stall.

"he said something about getting red before we left." pitts said.

ophelia stopped what she was doing, "getting red, or getting ready?" she asked, wondering if she misheard him.

"he definitely said, 'getting red,'" pitts confirmed.

the rest of them were just as confused as lia, "getting red? what does that mean?" cameron questioned.
