𝓃ℯ𝒾𝓁 was right about how the entire school being filled with only boys' bathrooms, it was no mystery to her. so because of this, she got to use the staff bathrooms as an alternative. they were much nicer than the ones the boys' got and more private. she was able to lock herself in the bathroom, and take as long as she wished.
she had just finished showering, wearing her dad's sweatpants from harvard where he attended medical school, and a simple large t-shirt because the day was now over for her considering she didn't take physical education class. she was very close to her room when she heard a commotion coming from neil and todd's room.
"i'm being chased by walt whitman!" neil had seen the poem todd was writing, entitled "lia my love" and anger flooded throughout him. his hands had begun to shake, and his knees almost buckled at the thought of someone else with her. ophelia herself opened the door to see todd chasing neil around their room and jumping on the beds.
"what the hell?"
"lia, catch!" neil exclaimed, tossing the notebook to lia who was also carrying her bag of toiletries and clothes.
"oh my god!" lia dropped her bag and took ahold of the notebook, and in her socks started running from todd's desperate hands. she was then tackled onto the bed and pinned down by todd. "okay," lia panted, "you win." she handed him the notebook. but todd still wouldn't get up.
"what are you guys doing?" cameron walked in on the scene. todd scrambled off of lia and she got up and lunged playfully for cameron's homework.
"lia! give that back!" he then proceeded to chase her around the room. "don't be immature come on!" neil and todd started to join the chase.
dalton ran into the room as well. "lia! hand it to me!" she threw it to him, and that ensued a game of hot potato without throwing it to cameron. the boys in the hall came in the room to watch the chaos, with charlie on the drums, and a kid with a wooden flute, so many people could hear them.
finally, cameron snatched back his homework, and everyone was out of breath. the boys that didn't belong in the dorm room left leaving lia, todd, and neil.
"i wonder if the lump of coal in cameron's ass is a diamond yet," ophelia pondered aloud. the boys laughed as she got up. "well, it's been a pleasure," she picked up the bag she had dropped, "but i have homework to be done, and music to listen to."
"are you gonna do the trig homework?" neil asked as she opened the door.
"uh, yea," she confirmed, raising an eyebrow.
"great cause i need help," he rummaged through his drawer and pulled out his binder for trigonometry. "is it okay if i come over?"
"sure. see ya todd." she waved to him, and he politely waved back.
neil walked her to her room and opened the door for her. he'd never really seen the inside of her room before. the one time he came to her door, all they had was the moonlight. her two beds were pushed together to the left of the window to make one big bed, and a desk was on the right side of the window with the other in the corner to the right of the door. the two provided wardrobes were also pushed together to the left of the door. soft, nearly transparent curtains covered the window to prevent those who would peak in from seeing anything.
