Kenzie's POV
Right now we are waiting for the guys on Johnny's truck because Lauren's car is still at the beach.
K; Lauren stop! It's not that big of a deal!
L; yes it is! He beat up a guy just because he was talking about you! That's a big deal!
K; how?
L; like I said! He likes you he just doesn't know it yet!
K; no he doesn't!
L; yes he does! He's never stuck up for someone like that before... unless it was me! He's so gentle with you! He even calls you Kenzie! He always called people by their last name when they first meet! It's so obvious! He even looks at you differently! He likes you Mackenzie!
K; Lauren you need to chill. They're coming.
The guys jumped into the truck and Lauren stopped talking.
J; hey.
K; hi.
He sat down next to me and I noticed he had more bruises on his face.
K; why do you have more bruises on your face?
J; umm...
K; Johnny! Did you get into another fight.
He scratched the back of his neck.
J; uhh... maybe...
K; Johnny! What was it this time?
J; I.. uhh
K; Johnny freaking Orlando you better tell me the truth!
J; I over heard these guys planning to fuck you when you were alone!
I feel hot tears streaming down my face. He pulled me into a hug.
K; you have to stop getting into fights with these guys over me.
J; I'm just trying to protect you...
K; I know Johnny...
I wipe my tears away and look up to see everyone staring at us.
K; I hate this fucking school.
B; I second that.
Everyone else chuckles.
L; alright now can we go get my car?
J; no because mark went to get it this morning.
L; oh ok...
I hear my phone ringing. I take it out of my pocket at see its Maddie.

K; hey mads. What's up?
M; are you still at school?
K; yeah we're sitting in Johnny's truck in the parking lot. Why?
M; I need to talk to you just wait there.
K; ok..
She hung up the phone and seconds later she and jack came up to the car.
M; hey guys.
Everyone; hi Maddie.
M; Kenz can we talk?
K; uhh sure...
I jump off the truck and Maddie pulls me away.

M; Kenzie...
That's when I noticed her and jacks eyes were glossy.
K; Maddie what's wrong?
M; Kenz we have to go back home...
K; what?
M; we need to go back home.
K; why?
M; because we have to go take care of mom.
K; what happened to dad?
M; he left. And mom isn't handling it well... it's just for a couple months We'll be back. But we have to go home and pack... we're leaving tomorrow.
I nod my head tears streaming down my face.
M; go say bye to your friends and meet me at the car.
I nod and run off to the truck.
J; hey Kenz.. what's wrong?
K; umm nothing... I'm going home with Maddie and jack so I'll see you guys later.
They nod and I run to Maddie's car.
I get in the back seat and look out the window. Maddie looks back at me.
M; I've already told the school.
I nod.
M; who's jacket is that?'
K; oh.. umm Johnny's.
M; oh... you must really like him..
k; yeah...
More tears stream down my face. When we get home I run inside and start to pack. When I'm finished I just sit down on the floor and go on my phone. I decided to go say bye to my friends. I got up and walked to Annie's then Brynns. I have to say bye to Johnny and Lauren now. This is going to be so hard. I walk across the street and knock on the door. Lauren opens it. Annie and Brynn had followed me.
L; hey guys.. what's wrong?
She noticed our tears.
K; I need to talk to you and your brother... Nadia and the boys I they're here.
She nods. We go upstairs to Johnny's room.
Bra; hey girlies what's wrong?
Lauren goes and gets Nadia and the boys get off the loft.
K; I'm leaving...
J; what do you mean you're leaving?
K; I have to go back to Pittsburgh tomorrow... it's just for a couple months but school will be over by then... so I won't see you.
They all start to cry. I pull each one of them aside to say goodbye individually. Now it was for Johnny... I pull him into the closet.
K; Johnny...
He pulls me into a hug.
K; Johnny.. I never thanked you... I never thanked you for caring and protecting me. Thank you so much. I don't know what I'm going to do without you-
Before I could finish he kissed me passionately. We both pulled away and stared into each other's eyes.
K; Johnny I have to go...
J; no. Please don't go.
K; Johnny I have to....
J; Kenzie please I...
