"Where you at next" Kaid asked placing a firm hand on Noonie's back, guiding her through the crowded halls of Bay Ridge High. The bell rang for second period placing Noonie in Math and Kaid in Science.
"Mr. Marine sadly" Noonie sighed hiking her book bag on her back a little. The day seemed to be going slower in slower in her mind since she didn't get much sleep last night. Derek seemed to be tugging in the bag of her brain triggering her insomnia, especially since she wasn't sure if he survived Kaid's wrath. "How about you?"
"I got Ms. Ramirez with her irritating ass" Kaid sighed burying his phone in his back pocket. "I'll see you later alright?" He ensured going to catch up with Stace who was waiting for him at the end of the hall.
"Cleo!" Noonie heard Jaelah call followed by the sound of her Air force 1s pattering behind her. "Girl I thought he'd never leave" She giggling hooking her arm around her friend.
"Hey" Noonie mumbled tucking a piece of her hair behind her ears.
"Wassup with that anyway? Why he always talking to you?" She spoke with a stank attitude. "Ya'll friends now or something?"
Noonie gave her a look slowing down her pace no longer in a rush to get to class since her head was sort of hurting. She didn't understand what Jaelah's problem was with Kaid, especially since she was the one urging her to get herself out there in the first place.
"Something like that Jay...why?" She sighed.
"Don't be upset when he ghost you sis just saying" She giggled dragging her to the back of Mr. Marine's classroom once they finally reached it. She seemed to get a kick out of doubting Noonie and anyone out of the way that winded up being her friend.
Noonie paid no mind to her negative assumptions sitting down in a seat way in the back of class as usual.
"So...how you been all weekend since you ain't been textin' me" Jaelah announced with petty dripping all through her words.
"I been good, me and Kaid been hanging out" Noonie explained with a small smile on her face. She was happy around him she couldn't deny it, even thought their first impressions weren't the best.
"Hanging out as in.." Jaelah dragged on flipping her hair over her shoulders flicking her tongue at her friend.
"As in, just hanging out nothing extra" She laughed glancing down at the floor since her face was on fire.
"Ugh! You're lame you know that" Jaelah giggled with Noonie blowing her a kiss in reply just as their teacher began to speak.
Second period went by in a blur, along with the rest of the day. Jaelah caught Noonie up on all her recent drama leaving out the drama with her and Kareem who were on the rocks along with June who she had yet to break up with which was only the cherry on top of the sundae.
Noonie now stood in front of her locker shoving her books inside of her book bag rushing to get to Kaid's house so she could get some rest.
"You tryna swing by today?" Jaelah asked leaning against the lockers next to her.
Cleo sighed to herself a little tired of hearing Jaelah's voice. She'd been going on all day as if she hadn't seen her friend in years. As much as she didn't want to admit it, Noonie was drained.
