looming in the sky were clouds of monsoon-like rain, just waiting to fall. a smoky grey sky and the humid july air was enough for taehyung to want to work.

he loved the days that held showers of endless rainfall. he felt as if his little worries and struggles melted away with the floods; and sometimes it was just so.

"excuse me...sir?" the blonde snapped his head up and out of his thoughts.

okay, that was embarrassing. get it together...

his eyes met those of a woman's, who held hands with a young kid, presumably her child. the little one's eyes drooped, and was constantly yawning. after all, it was approaching eleven p.m.

"what can i get for you, miss?" taehyung asked, forcing a tired smile.

"may i get..." the woman ordered her espresso and left quickly with her child thereafter.

a sigh escaped the barista's lips as he took a seat in a stool behind the counter.

and so we wait.

as time ticked by, the windows whistled with the wind, the streams of rain apparent trcikling down the glass. an occasional flicker of lightning reflected through the little cafe, but all sweets and goodies remained untouched.

taehyung wiped his hand on his apron covered in coffee grounds, yawned, and fell asleep immediately.

the door of the cafe slammed so loud that the sleeping boy was ripped away from his dreams.

"who is there?" taehyung said firmly as he stood. he wasn't scared easily, and if he was honest right now, he was pretty pissed off at whoever disturbed him.

however, what the blonde saw wasn't a criminal. what he saw wasn't some their, or weapon-bearing gang member.

taehyung saw what appeared to be a scared boy.

is he crying?
