the few days passed, and it was time for the two boys to come together for their first 'meeting.'

to say jeongguk was nervous would be an understatement. he knew how embarrassing it would be for him, and felt his cheeks getting warm just thinking about it.

he had already checked the radar on his weather app multiple times, though it seemed pretty certain when the rain would start. 4 P.M. sharp.

after an exchange of information with taehyung, he set out to his apartment. luckily, it was only a 15 minute walk from where he himself lived.

he had his anxiety meds on him just in case, because around the late afternoon was when they usually wore off.

for some reason, jeongguk took a little longer than usual in front of his wardrobe. he didn't know why, but he wanted to impress taehyung, and it made him anxious.

when he finally reached the door, he hesitated to knock, but finally did after a few seconds of just standing blankly at the door.

as soon as he laid his hand on it, the door swung open, revealing a freshly showered taehyung.

he looks kinda hot with wet hai-

"jeongguk! how's it going?" said taehyung with a huge smile on his face. he leaned back and let his guest through his door.

jeongguk was pretty flustered and was only able to let out the word 'good', although his voice cracked. he wanted to die.

"you okay?" the blonde boy said with a raised brow.

"m-mhm. just fine. how about you?" he got his shit together this time at least.

"i'm ready for it to rain!" he said and leaned back on the couch. not to mention, they sat only about an inch apart, and it felt hot in the room. taehyung was confused. he just got his air conditioning unit installed three weeks ago?

"hah... can't relate," said jeongguk, frowning, "we're gonna have to go out in the thunder in order for me to really stand up to my fear.

"hey," taehyung mumbled, and turned jeongguk's cheek so that he was facing him, "you'll be okay. i'm here."

the younger simply nodded and gulped.

does this boy understand personal space?

through the windows on the balcony, it was clear that it was raining. the thunder was quiet, but still enough to make jeongguk react.

"calm down, it's okay," said taehyung in a reassuring voice. he grasped jeongguk's wrist and led him to the balcony, where the only option of sitting was on the floor.

taehyung didn't mind, as long as he was helping the other boy. jeongguk also didn't care, as long as he could get away from his phobia.

they both sat, with no space between each other. taehyung had propped an umbrella against the railing to keep the two from getting soaked, and surprisingly it worked. the two waited in silence for a while.

but, that's when it happened.

lightning flashed brighter than the sun itself, and blew a transformer box on a power line maybe four or five blocks away.

"AH!" jeongguk shrieked in a somewhat girly scream and clung on to taehyung.

taehyung knew that now wasn't the time to be blushing, but he decided to slide his arm around the small of jeongguk's back, and pull him closer. this made the scared boy stop his heavy breathing abruptly and look over at taehyung's face. the blonde was already staring at him, though.

jeongguk gulped and looked away shyly, making the boy next to him smile.

"can i ask you something?" said taehyung, suddenly serious.

"yeah, sure."

"are you, perhaps, seeing someone?"
