Auryn. That's the name I was given. I don't remember what it meant or the reasoning behind it; or who knows, maybe it didn't have one... But that's what I was called. I'm the underdog in this tale, ladies and gentlemen. Surprised? Yeah, I wouldn't be either. I am a member of the Western HawkHeart Pack. Weird name, right? So, I mentioned I'm the underdog... By all means, assume I'm the Omega of my pack. Because... I was. Predictable, right? Well, I wasn't the only one, at least... There was Tyra (pronounced Tee-ra THANK YOU.) but she wasn't incredibly interested in hanging around me. I'm not entirely sure why... Maybe she didn't like me. Maybe I said something mean to her that I never apologized for, or maybe she was too shy to say anything to me, I really didn't know the reasons. We were left to ourselves and all we had was each other. You would think we should stick together. But she stayed away from me. Maybe it's because I'm different. Right.... Because of my stupid. Red. Fur. Wolves shouldn't have red fur, it was decided. I was supposed to be killed. But I escaped and found refuge in this pack. I was especially lucky the alpha even took me in in my condition. Red fur. Red fur was worthy of death... It wasn't exactly fair. And if I survived being executed for it, I should be a gnaw wolf. Yeah. That's lower than an omega. But the pack alpha here; Cason; had been kind enough to bump me up to omega. So I wasn't complaining--- he could've killed me. I had no place to complain, anyways. But that doesn't necessarily mean that Cason was a kind and warm leader. In fact, he and the rest of his pack treated me very poorly--- but I ignored it. Why? Because it was better than DYING. Cason was feeling generous the day he accepted me to his pack--- any other day and I might've been killed. He didn't abuse me or anything, but he wasn't kind to me. He never called me Auryn--- it was always "omega". And people even thought that was my name. I did the dirty work in this pack and quite frankly Tyra wasn't much of an omega. I often wondered how shed ever ended up with such a rank... But as I said, we didn't talk so it isn't like I could just ask her... But she didn't seem anything like an omega. She ate before me and was welcomed in this pack. The only thing that kept her in her rank was the submission to the more dominant wolves. It was odd, really.

So... That's my life in a nut shell. Auryn. The one with red fur. And don't you forget it.
