I squirmed against the ropes pointlessly as Raion fell to the dirt, his usually bright fur dull. "Raion!" I wept helplessly. Tyra walked closer to him and waved her paw over him. "Awaken, my slave. Awaken and take your true form as the slave at my side. You will remain there until you die at my paws." Her lips pulled into a malicious sneer that made my hackles raise and she stood back, as a new Raion climbed to his feet.
"R-Raion...?" I asked tentatively.
He turned to me and I recognized right away that he wasn't the same wolf I'd seen just moments ago. All the light had vanished from his face, his expression and his eyes.
"Slave," Tyra commanded. Raion turned to her; the motion looked undead and reluctant. Mind control.
"Take her to the ship."
No sooner had she ordered had Raion hobbled in a zombie-like manner to my side, tugging me from the ropes and holding me tightly to prevent my escape. I would've blushed at the motion if his expression hadn't been so blank and lifeless.
"Raion? Raion, wake up, snap out of it...!"
Tyra cackled.
"Hush, hush, Auryn. Rainy only listens to ME now."
My heart pounded against Raion's claws that were wrapped around my chest.
I couldn't stop the continuous tears as the wolf I loved began to drag me to my doom.

I opened my eyes at the feeling of a gentle swaying back and forth. I looked around as I remembered what happened. Were we... On a raft...?
"So you're awake."
I looked up as a cold voice rang in my direction. My breath caught as I saw it was Raion.
"... Raion...?" I gulped at how broken my voice sounded. His face was harsh and blank.
"What."
I swallowed.
"... Do... You remember me?"
He didn't answer. I bit my lip.
"Raion...? Please say that you remember me...."
"... I do."
My ears perked up ever so slightly. He did.
"So what?" He growled.
My heart sank, but I stood my ground. I had to keep pushing. I needed him to keep talking to me. If I really was going to my death, I wanted my last memory to be of Raion--- whether it was a pleasant thing or not.
"... What are they going to do to me?" I asked tentatively. He hesitated for a moment, then mumbled. "We are going to tie a weight to your leg and leave you in the lake."
I gulped and felt the color drain from my face like an emptying water bottle, already dreading it.
I thought for a minute. "... So was it Tyra or Rose who left me in the river that day?"
"Neither."
I frowned and looked up at him, hoping he wasn't saying what I thought he was saying.
"... You mean..."
"I did it."
