The rhythmic sound of hooves was therapeutic, drowning out all other sounds. I smiled, tuning out and purely enjoying my ride. I was exploring around Nilmers Highland, taking in the Thursday afternoon.
The sound of a crowd broke my trance-like state. I frowned and steered Glory towards the noise. A small crowd blocked my view of whatever was catching everyone's attention. My curiosity got the best of me and I dismounted Glory, tying her bridle to a tree, but not before making sure she had grass to eat.
"I'll be back," I said, stroking her cheek.
I strolled towards the crowd, slowly pushing through the condensed group. It wasn't until I neared the front that I actually saw the cause of the crowd. Two horses like I've never seen before. A cream white horse with pink spots all down it's back stood to the right of me, it's bright pink mane, tail and feathering moving in the wind. To my left, there was a light brown horse, tinged with green in some places. It had a green nose, it's mane, tail and feathering a forest green.
I gaped at them, confused. How did this happen to them? How are they like this? They're beautiful.
"They're amazing, aren't they?"
"Huh, sorry?" I said, looking towards the voice.
"I said, they're amazing, aren't they?" A girl a bit older than me said.
"Yeah, they are. What happened to them? How are they like this?"
"I guess you're relatively new here, yes?"
I nodded.
"Well, a couple of years ago, there were rumors that the magic energy around Jorvik had gotten to some wild horses. People looked for them but they were never found." She nodded towards the horses, "I guess they have been now."
"Wow, they're wild and for sale?"
"They've both been trained, one hasn't yet."
"Huh?" I looked around, wondering where the horse was.
"Over there," she pointed to an area beside the crowd.
"Thanks so much!"
"No problem."
I made my way out of the crowd and saw the horse in question. It was on a long rope, tied to a fence post in the middle. A temporary wooden fence had been put up and I went and leaned on it. The horse was going crazy, trying to escape the pen. Because of his frantic running, I was able to see the magic in effect. One moment he was all black, his blue eyes wide and the next his mane, tail and feathering was turning into a bright shade of blue.
I wondered if I would be able to train this wild horse. He was rearing, tugging on the rope and really trying to escape. After a couple of minutes of observing, I decided I would try.
"Excuse me."
The man turned around, and looked at me. He seemed overwhelmed because of the crowd.
"Yes?"
"I was wondering if that horse is for sale?" I pointed to the wild horse.
"He is, yes. You want him? I have to warn you, he's a handful."
"Yes, please. How much is he?"
He thought for a moment. "700 star coins."
"500 star coins, " I barted.
"650 star coins."
"600 star coins."
"Deal."
I bit my lip, realising I didnt have the money on me. "I have to go get the money. I'll be right back."
He nodded and turned his attention back to controlling the crowd.
I ran back towards Glory, mounted her, and clicked my tongue. "Come on girl, give me a sprint."
By the time I returned, the pink maned horse was sold, almost halving the crowd. I went straight to the man, giving him the 600 star coins. He told me the horse was all mine and I thanked him, all the while thinking of names.
"Misty? No. MarbleMirror? No. MidnightRain?" I smiled, "Yep, that's the one."
I walked over to the wild black horse still thrashing around. I didn't even know how I was supposed to get him back to the stables. Reluctantly, I called Jenna and asked for her to pick me up, telling her the situation. She agreed, and said she'd be there in five minutes.
She arrived and we began planning how to get the wild horse back to the stables. He was too wild to be easily loaded into the trailer so we had to get creative. We got to work setting up a fence either slide of the trailer. Once the fence was secure, we began to scare him into entering the trailer. I could tell he was stressed as he dodged and reared, fighting against us.
It took almost an hour. We'd get him close to the door, he'd rush us and we'd have to scatter. We were both sweating and exhausted when he finally entered the trailer. We immediately closed the trailer door and I slumped against it.
"Thanks, Jenna. I'm sorry that took so long."
"It's not your fault he's wild handful," she smiled, eyebrows raised.
"I don't know how I'm going to tame him, let alone ride him."
"It'll be a challenge, that's for sure."
I shook my head, smiling. "Thanks Jenna."
We got in Jenna's car and she drove us and my new challenge to the stables.

Hello everyone!
I want to dedicate this chapter to some peeps.
One, writeatdawn , for all the times she's read over my story and also for nagging me about writing.
Two, EllenaAureliaCortese , for listening to my rambles about writing and especially this story. Almost all of the time she had no idea what I was saying.
