I glanced at the large pile of coins sitting in my purse. Running my fingers over the blue metal imprinted with stars I took in just how much money I was holding. After Easter, two codes for Star Coins were released. People went crazy, all eager to have their fair share of the money. The first code was for 430 Star Coins, the second, 350 totalling to 780 Star Coins each.
"Are you trying to make me jealous?"
I snapped my head up to see a large black horse with white legs scraping at the ground with his hoof. Ashley was perched on his enormous back.
"No. And don't you complain about having no money now, you bought this gorgeous boy."
"Good point," she laughed.
I closed my grey purse and placed it in Glory's saddle bag. She snorted impatiently as I mounted her.
"Oh shoosh you."
"Where are you going?" Ash asked.
"To Narnia," I replied sarcastically. "I'm going to buy an Appaloosa."
"Can I come?"
"Sure, why not."
With a click of my tongue, Glory began to walk. Ash egged on her new Shire and we walked out of Moorland and towards Marley's Farm. The weather was quite warm and Jorvik was a sea of green with specks of flowers here and there. It was such a different change to when I first arrived with snow covering everything. I glanced at Ash on her black and white Shire, the enormous horse almost twice the size of Glory. Ash once again had tacked up the horse in all black just like her clothes. Ever since I met her I didn't think I'd seen her wear any other colour. A lot of our classmates thought she was emo with her black obsession, but she was nowhere close to being emo.
"What's his name?" I asked, breaking the comfortable silence.
"Duskfeather."
"It suits him."
"That's why I chose it."
I just laughed as we rode down the hill to Marley's.
Ash and I guided our horses over to the fence that surrounded the jumping arena and Ash tied Duskfeather to it, just in case. I trusted Glory enough to leave her untied to roam. I glanced at Marley, thinking I should talk to him before I looked at the horses.
"What are you girls here for?" He came walking over to us.
Ash stepped forward, way less socially awkward than me. "Hi Marley, my friend Caitlin is looking to buy an Appaloosa."
"Are you now?" I nodded. "Well, I'll show you them, then."
He walked off towards a group of horses loosely tied to a long fence. They were all feeding of the green grass growing at their hooves.
"Here are the only two I have at the moment."
He gestured to two Appaloosas. One has a black and white paint coat and a black mane and tail. The other was brown with white uneven spots apart from its hind which was the opposite. I was leaning towards the brown Appaloosa, thinking its coat looked like the night sky.
"Which one are you thinking?" Ash whispered in my ear.
"The brown one I think," I whispered back.
"Marley, could we just have some time to think?"
"Sure, I'll be nearby." And with that, he walked off.
"Thanks," I smiled at Ashley.
"No problem."
We spent the next 10 minutes discussing which horse I wanted to buy. Personally, I liked the brown Appaloosa the best. Unsurprisingly, Ash liked the black one. After another 5 minutes of debating, I finally settled on the brown horse. Ashley called over Marley and I asked to buy the brown Appaloosa.
"What have you named her?" asked Ash as Marley cleared up the small paperwork.
"Springdash."
Marley nodded and wrote down the name. He handed me a copy of the paperwork and lead my new horse towards me.
"Thanks, Marley."
"No problem girls."
Back at the Moorland Stables, I fixed up yet another stall for Springdash. Jenna had been amazingly kind and accommodating as usual and agreed to let me use another stall if I paid for the two extra ones I was using. This now meant I'd have to find people who need chores done and are willing to pay to get the extra money, but it's worth it. Once Springdash looked comfortable and had met MidnightRain, I said goodbye to Ashley and retired to begin my homework.

God, I know this chapter's short. I am working on trying to make each chapter different and interesting, but I don't think I'd stay interested in this book for that long. I guess that's why I'm not as motivated anymore. I'm not quite sure where I want the non-existent storyline to go. At first, I was going to include the main story quests but I've been writing this book since 2016 so I feel like I should finish it and take a break to plan a new story.
Thank you to all of you who comment and vote, and even just read. It means a lot. I want to know what you guys think I should do. I do have about 7 or 8 more chapters planned out I'm just not sure if I want to continue after that.
Thanks for reading this and my mini rant.
