ch.27

I enter the compound dragging two bags. "Cleo?" I hear Haley question I look up the sairs finding her standing at the top with Hope next to her.

"Hey." I say smiling. 

"You could have called we could have gotten a room ready." She says starting down the stairs.

"No, it's fine I kind of left on a wim anyway." I hug her as she nears. "It's good to see you."

"You too." She smiles as two hybrids take my bags. "Take them to Rebekah's room." She tells them.

"No that's fine take them to Nik's." I say stoping them.

She looks suprised before regaining her composer. "Sweetheart do you remeber aunt Cleo?" She asks turning to Cleo.

"Right dad's mate." She gives me a side hug before walking back up stairs.

"Teenagers." I say, smiling.

"tell me about it. So what brings you to New Orleans?" She asks as we start walking to the cellar.

"Nik." I say softly. Grabbing a fresh bottle of bourban, downing half of it.

"That bad?" She says leaning on the table.

I just nod. "Got even worse." I say taking another drink.

"How bad?" She asks.

"This isn't enough alcohol if you want me to continue my story." I say drinking the rest.

"Damn that's bad."

"Worse then bad terrible. Love, it's  just terrible." I sigh, grabbing another.

"What happened." She asked sitting on the table. I down another two bottles well taking to her only feeling lightly buzzed. I tell her everything starting with the burning of the letter, and not repling.

"And that's when I basically ran off and came here." I said starting another.

"Okay, enough with the alcohol." She takes the bottle from me. "Go talk to him okay, it's important. And break it off with Ty, Klaus has slept with other people yes. Me included but you guys are meant to be together. So get off your sorry ass and get home to your man." She says, pulling me out the door.

"You sound like Rebekah." I say stopping in the door way.

"Maybe I do. But we both know I'm right." She says with a smirk.

"I kind of want to be away from him right now. Yes I love him but I can't just go back. As much as I deserve it I can't have him yelling at me." I say sitting next to the wall.

"You can stay here for the night." I look to her. "Only cause you are drunk and shouldn't be driving, but you go back tomorrow." She says. We sit their for a second. 

"At least well I'm here we should go shopping for the kids birthdays."

"Yeah Andy's 13th is tomorrow. Cas' will be turning 11 next week, yeah?" She asks.

"Yeah but the loves managed to speed their growth process so now they are eighteen. I'm not happy about it but I am happy about it if you will." I say looking at her.

"They are still 13 and 11." She says with a smile. 

"And Hope is still 14" I say with a smile.

"That she is, come on let's go get them birthday gifts." She says staying up and looking at me expectedly.

We spent hours, and hours at the little shops around town. We got Hope a locket with Haley and Klaus' picture, Andy got a bracelet with blue jems, and cas being the smart one I got him a spell book. Haley I and I spilt ways about half way through and ended up meeting at the compound at the same time.
