"What are you?" He asked angrily into my ear.

"I think you know." I say spitting out blood.

"A hybrid but how Klaus is the only hybrid." He says confusion crossing his face.

"Wrong. I am older. I was a werewolf well before you were born. More powerful the leader of an entire country before I was betrayed. I was exiled from my home kingdom. Your mother found me, found pity. Eventually, she turned me when she turned all of you." I hiss, spitting out more blood as I go.

"No, your lying." He says.

"If you really thought that I would be dead already." I hiss.

"Let her down." Another original enters the room I am strung up in; shackled at my hands and feet hanging from the ceiling.

"Elijah always ruining my fun." The first male says.

"Don't you remember her?" The one called Elijah asks.

"No. Who is she to you?" The first male hisses.

"Your mother Kol." Elijah states.

"No, she is not. My mother is Ester the same as yours." Kol hisses.

I spit more blood. "When I came into your village I was carrying a baby. Half werewolf half human. Ester raised my child like her own binding his life with mine, hiding the werewolf gene she was able to lock it away. As long as I am alive his gene won't come out unlike his brother Niklaus'. I saved my child the best I could I hid in the forests for years. Knowing that if I just made my way out I would find my child. Kol you are of the Eastern Blood Moon pack you are their right full leader and I wish you had known who you were but, being my son you were in more trouble if I raised you. I gave you to Ester knowing she could hide you from our pack and make sure you lived the life you deserved. My sweet son, I am so sorry for what has happened to you."

"If you cared you wouldn't have left me." He hisses.

"I left you because I wanted you not to be hunted. I wanted you to live a life you deserved and as much as that pains me it wasn't with me. Kol if I had raised you, we would have been hunted and killed. You wouldn't have survived infancy."

"She is telling the truth Kol." Elijah said.

-----

"Excuse me." I say running my hand over Marcel's arm.

I walk down the stairs making my way over to the other side of the compound. I enter a room with the door open. "Niklaus. Please." I say.

"What." He spits turning around.

"You know I never meant to hurt you." I say quietly.

"So my brother being your son and you being my mate has nothing to do with each other." He spits closing the distance. His breath now on my cheek.

"Like I had a choice. You may hate me but you are my Mate I still need you." I whisper looking into his eyes.

"Mate or not. You didn't tell me. I found out when Kol decided to scream in my face. How am I suppose to forgive that, Cleo." He says angrily at first but finishing with a soft voice.

"Niklaus please I wanted to tell you but I was sworn not to by your mother." In my egyptian accent, eyes meeting the ground.

"Of course she had something to do with this." He says turning away.

"Nik, please I would have told you. Please believe me." I say tears threatening to fall.

"How can I believe you?" He says running his right hand through his hair.

"Because I would never lie to you. I never have before and I never will." I state turning him around.

"How do I know that?"

"Because I am your mate."
