chapter one
"this town is waaaay to small" I say to my mom and sister Samantha. the house looks old and forgotten. I don't think anyone has lived here in like 20 years. "you'll like it eventually....I hope." my mom says we had to move so we can get a fresh start. my thoughts? we don't need a fresh start. my dad just recently left us for some girl he met at a bar one night. the nerve of that man.
"this house will look great!" squeals Samantha. she's a junior which means she's one year older than me, but she acts like she's five. I snort as a response to her comment. "please," I say "we might as well slap the Adams family on our mail box, which is broken by the way." she gives me the look. Samantha gives me this look whenever I annoy her, and when I say "look" I mean a death glare. "this house is like you Ronny, it looks horrible, but sorta has potential, and with my help can look very nice." she only says that because I'm not like the stereotypical girl, where as Samantha...well, let's just say when I'm ticked off enough I give her the nickname Regina George.
"oh c'mon Samantha, Ronny can dress nice when she really wants too." wow thanks mom. "sorry, I like to be comfortable!" they laugh and simultaneously respond with, "beauty hurts!" they also have the same laugh. I'm such an outsider compared to them. they have the same smile, and the same laugh. they're both dirty blonde, and are very into fashion and make up. they only thing I have from my mom is her figure, but I'm okay with that. what I'm not okay with is the fact that I look just like me dad, and have his smile, AND have his laugh. I have brown wavy hair, hazel green eyes, and I practically have his personality!
when I get to my room, I start to unpack. I have a lot of clothes! I don't even wear half of them...maybe I should get rid of them. nahh. once I'm unpacked, I start to rearrange my room. I like the finished outcome. it's.....what's the word? hmmm....RONNY. "Ronny! mom wants you,...like right now!" Samantha really gets on my nerves sometimes. I slowly make my way downstairs, and when I get down I am not pleased! I see this skinny, red haired, big boobed, young, lady. she looks to perky. immediately I groan. "well, hi there New neighbour! aren't you just a pretty thing! I'm Trisha!" her voice is high and sounds like a southernbell. "well don't just stand there Ronny! come over here and introduce yourself." whhhhhyyy???? "ok mom." I make me way way over to the ditsy red head. "hi, I'm Ronny." she looks at me like a puppy expecting a treat, and I can tell she wants to get to know me...like right now. "hi I'm Ronny and I like music, tv, and food. I love food. I'm straight, and I am sarcastic. also, I hate people. like, all people." the smile she's been wearing since the moment I saw her slightly fades but then returns to it's original state. I made her uncomfortable. it's like I gave the puppy the treat, and it tasted good at first, but then it gave the puppy diarrhea so it regrets the treat all together. yyyuuuppp, I have that effect on most people.
"would you guys like to come over?" Trisha face looks desperate. "right now?" asks my mother. "yeah, why not?" she pleaded with her eyes. "alright!" my mom seems excited to have made a friend on our first day. but why does our "New friend" have to be Trisha? "let us get ready and we'll be over...in let's say...half an hour?" she's really going through with this. "yeah okay sure!" she squeals while bouncing on our heals.
I don't dress up, but I don't look like crap either. I'm just in a pair of skinny jeans, with a tank top and a knit cardigan. my hair is in a messy bun. I look...alright. I just pray that the rest of Trisha' s family isnt as annoying as her. Samantha looks...well,...pink. my mom looks nice though; she looks really good. why does she want to impress them so much? why can't we just be ourselves? oh riiiight, puppy diarrhea. it's not my fault I'm not always a happy camper. whatever. once we reach Trisha' s door, we ring the doorbell, but the doorbell is long and boring. why do I have to be here? why can't I be at home reading right now??
