hola :) this is an explanation to the book lmao.
basically the devil was one being that kept causing the serial murders in the city.
it was able to follow the gang, hence namjoon seeing the devil in its real form on the way to the hotel as he had a panic attack.
the devil took over yoongi first since even tho i didn't include it, yoongi had a small un bandaged paper cut. the devil just needs a small cut to be able to get into your body.
yoongi then started injuring others to make way for the devil to clone almost and take over another body.
in the end, only the real devil has a shadow so yuga was able to figure out with one to kill and ignite fire on.
however before they could, jungkook was injured a little, a tiny scratch. even this is enough. since the devil was dying, it was able to jump into jungkook but since most of its body was burnt it needed to heal.
all those months, it hid in jungkook and began the full devil again after healing. hence in the end, it comes out again using jungkook as its vessel.
