The wind howled in the autumn evening air, rain pelted down on the earth from the sky, as the thunder boomed as it called out to the rest of nature. A storm had not only brewed but was in full blast. Amongst the storm was a creature at one with nature as its large dark paws thumped along the wet ground, it was hurriedly racing to get home, battling through mother natures most brutal forces. The creature silently ran through the wet, dark forest at an unnaturally fast pace, stopping only to howl towards the rest of its pack of beautiful creatures , in warning of the harsh weather. The male creature was still a long way from his comforting home.

Meanwhile, In a large oak house which stood centrally amongst the packs land, was a mother who nursed her two new born children. Holding one in her arms as she watched the other, a baby girl, who was tightly bundled in blankets in their bassinet. Slowly she rocked the baby boy in her arms to sleep quietly humming a lullaby which she knew all too well. The mother proceeded to place her baby boy into his own bassinet as she gently kissed his forehead. She moved to kiss her smaller baby before silently walking out of the room, shutting the door without a sound.

She tried to move as silently as she could from the twins nursery and past her eldest angels room. Succeeding, the mother was able to navigate her way past the toddlers room and towards the winding stairs which lead her to the families large living room. Just as the mother was about to sit down in front of a warm fire, a loud clap of thunder sounded outside, waking up her eldest child. It wasn't long before the blond haired 3 year old walked out of her bedroom to the top of the stairs, calling to her mother.

The mother quickly stood back up, using a hairband on her wrist to tie her red hair up into a loose bun before walking to the stairs to go get her child.

'Mumma' The sleepy girl cried out, arms stretched as she wept from being startled by the storm.

The mother was about to make her way to ascend the marble stairs when another clap of thunder rang and a sound of glass was heard smashing from behind her, the cause being a large boulder, covered in layers of blood. The mother didn't have to look, only smell to know it was covered in the red, metallic substance.

The noises had once again startled the little girl, making her cry more. The mother looked towards her daughter, keeping an eye on her as she mind linked her husband to tell him what had happened, insisting he was to hurry home quicker. The male whom she had mind linked being the dark creature already running through the brutal storm.

The mother told her Silver eyed child to stay at the top of the stairs before she went to investigate the rock. What occurred from there was all a blur to the woman, all happening too fast for her to comprehend. One minute her golden haired pup stood at the top of the stairs, the next she was being held at the front door in the arms of a red eyed creature of the night. The mother could recall calling urgently in her head to her husband as she feared for her child's life, knowing that this red eyed beasts next move could kill the innocent girl.

The male alpha ran faster than he thought possible thought the wet forest floors with a newfound urgency, calling for backup as he navigated his way through the trees. The male grew more worried for his wife and children as he suddenly stopped being able to hear his mates calls. He was only 2 minutes away.

The mother looked at the creature of the night with nothing but hate as he harshly gripped the crying toddler in his arms. The mother kept screaming at him, asking what he wanted, yet he remained silent, only giving her an all too calm smirk which displayed his long sharp fangs. The mother gasped the creature, the vampire, begging him not to do anything to her little girl. He continued to smirk, trailing a sharp nail along the child's pale cheeks which were covered in tears.

The mother tried to tackle and fight the vampire, only to fail and be tossed into the wall next to the door with such a force that her left leg snapped in two. "Leave her alone!" She cried out. She couldn't move from her position on the floor, she was hurt too much to be able to.

In that moment she could hear the pounding footsteps of her mate pounding down the path to their home and for a second a small sliver of hope spread through her. All that hope was quickly ruined as her husband opened the doors to their home. It was that same second that the vampire looked between the two viciously and leaned down towards the toddler, piercing her neck with his sharp fangs. Carrying out an act which ultimately changed all of their lives forever.
