I grip the edges of my coat which I borrowed from Jazz tightly as I walk along the busy streets of a large city, not far from where we are staying. Being in crowded places always does put me on edge. You can never guarantee who is simply a civilian and who is not.
Walking amongst the public can be viewed as a smart yet obvious type of disguise, causing those who are spied on or hunted on to constantly watch their backs. Even a moment of relaxation when in a largely public place could be that one move which was a make or break factor. That moment of weakness is when a hunter may take their chance to attack.
So as I continue to wind my way through the large masses of different people, I keep in mind the potentially dangerous predicament I have put myself in, keeping my senses on high alert.
On my back I carry a backpack, which now is filled with new comfy clothes for me to wear. After all this is the main reason as to why I had chosen to venture out into the city. If I am going to leave on my own shortly I'm going to need some new clothes in my own. There is no way I can keep borrowing Asia and Jazz's small pile of clothes.
Initially I had chose to get the bus into this large city, making me appear to look as human as possible, and no where near out of the ordinary. So that's where I am heading now, back to the bus stop which is located in the city centre. In my opinion the sooner I get there the better.
I continue to walk through the massive city, occasionally knocking my shoulder with someone else's as I weave my way through people when I suddenly hear muffled screams coming from an alley only 50 metres to my left. Such muffled screams wouldn't have been heard for the average human ears, so I was not surprised when no one nearby seemed to hear the sounds.
I try my best to run as an ordinary person would towards the alley I heard such screams. Turning down towards the alleyway I can make out the shadows of a teenage girl and another figure looming over her. Before I can even take another step an overwhelming stench of blood takes over my sinuses making my stomach churn in pain and hunger for something which we desire due to what we are. I hunch over for a second trying to grasp control of the natural instincts before taking another step forwards.
It takes all my strength to hold back my immediate predatory instincts and focus on trying to help the fearful girl. I make my steps soundless as a slowly move closer to the two figures until I am out of sight of any potential witnesses. I watch the two figures as what looks like a slender male taunts the teen for a while as she shivers visibly in fear.
From my enhanced vision I can make out his sharp fangs and pale complexion, matched with bright red Iris' which clearly confirm my suspicions that this figure is a vampire out on the hunt for his next meal. This teen unfortunately being his unlucky prey. The girl shrieks as she spots his sharp canines and tries to run but with no luck. The figure grips her leg roughly before a loud snap sounds in the air indicating that he just snapped her calf. The teen shrieks out in pain before once again collapsing to the floor
It is now that I know I can't just stay back and watch, I need to intervene and stop his male from harming the poor girl any further. Quickly and quietly I take my back pack off, setting it to the side before I take a step out of the shadows and use my supernatural gifts to run to the male in less than a second before tapping his shoulder. The male turns around with an annoyed yet surprised expression and I snarl at him in warning.
His eyes glow a brighter red as he turns to face me, his dark hair is slicked back in a fashionable style showing that he beforehand was in disguise and tends to be well kept. He eyes me up and down in a predatory way before taking a step towards me before I once again snarl at this male in warning.
He smiles at me before a whimper is heard from behind him and his attention diverts to the wounded teen. His nostrils flare for a moment from the smell of her blood oozing out of her injuries.
This distraction was all I needed before I tackle the male to the ground and away from the poor girl. The whimpers from the girl continue and an image flashes through my mind of my younger siblings and one of them being put in this same predicament.
The male knocks my shoulders sending me spiralling into the air and for a rough landing. He stands back up, glaring at me before he slowly walks towards me in a way which is meant to appear threatening. Little does he know that his petty attempts at scaring me will not work. I have grown up training to fight all supernatural beings. Something which I am grateful my father insisted I participate in from such a young age.
It is then that the male races at me but not before I am able to move out of his way and kick him hard in the kidney. He flies forward onto his Boney knees and before he has a chance to jump to his feet I am on his back and smashing his pale face into the ground. In a wave of fury he manages to push me off of his back and to the side before he goes to swipe my face with his sharp nails. Fortunately for me he misses but gets a good swipe at my right shoulder before I once again am kicking his legs from under him and standing back up. We both glare at each other before I show him my own sharp fangs to which he laughs.
'Ah I see another vampire we have here. Such a young beauty at that'
I don't reply but instead lunge at him hitting him hard in the face and stomach as he hurls forward in pain. I take this opportunity to swipe my own sharp nails at the male across the face and over his left eye doing a significant amount of damage in the process, leaving his own dark and cold blood to ooze down his face.
He rumbles and tries to tackle me once again but I was one step ahead of him and use my strength to launch him at the nearby wall, breaking chunks of brick in the process. The girl whimpers and I take the opportunity of the male trying to regain himself to check on the girl. From here I can see that her arms have long gashes down them and her leg is 100% broken to the point her foot is twisted to face an unnatural angle. She definitely is in need of a lot of medical attention and soon.
Before I know it the male is running at me again and manages to get a good grip on my arm, digging his claw like nails as roughly as he can drawing my own blood. I thrust my arm towards him in an attempt to get him to loosen my arm. But luck was not on my side as he grips my arm harder before ramming me into the wall. In the process spreading a deep gash from one side of my forearm to the other. He then grips my neck and goes in to snap it but I reach my knees up and into his manhood making him recoil for a moment. Causing him to let out an audible groan of pain.
I then knock him to the ground and land so violently on his own legs that I manage to make one of his own snap in two. I grab his now broken leg and grip onto it with a death grip making him snarl at me in pain, trying to bite me with his fangs. I pin him to the ground before the male speaks again, 'Girl I would be careful if I were you, not many vamps take too nicely to such a young thing trying to take their meal.'
Only them do I decide to speak 'And who said I was trying to take your meal'
'Your mouth speaks one thing but your eyes show me your hunger' he smiles at me.
I glare at him for a moment before he speaks again, 'would you mind letting me go girl I have things to do.'
'You are not placing your fangs in that girls veins!' I snarl at him
'I've lost interest in that tiny human now, can't you hear her heat slowing? You can have her if you want but I best be going.' At that I punch him in the face.
He spits out blood. 'Girl what's your name?' I say nothing.'I'm Dominic, and I bet I'll be seeing you around again blondie'
I allow him to stand up all while eyeing him cautiously. He shakes his head at me before running off into the night. I knew going into the city was a bad idea.
