Staring at the sun setting, the realisation slowly started to seep in that nothing would ever be the same. How could it, when the world around her had burned to ashes? At first she just sat there, not knowing where to go and no one to go anywhere with. Or so she thought, until she heard the sound of stumbling footsteps behind her. A man came stumbling towards her, a man as relieved to see her as she was to see him. Not just a man, a companion for the end of the world.
