Reese was in my next period class and I couldn't help but wonder what powers she has. Jack hadn't told her yet that I was like her. I decide to tell her myself, if she hadn't already figured it out. When the lunch bell rang, I was determined to eat with Reese so I could talk to her about her powers. When I sat across from her with two grilled chicken legs on my plate, I didn't expect her to scream. But she did. "What's wrong?" I ask. She looks at my plate in disgust. "Are you actually going to eat that?" She asks me. I nod. "The other choice was meatloaf and I don't eat red meat." I tell her. She rolls her eyes. "Well I am a strict vegetarian." She explains. I lean in so no one in the cafeteria can hear me other than Reese. "Does this have anything to do with your powers?" I ask. She scrunches her eyebrows. "What do you mean?" She asks. "You do have powers, don't you?" I ask. She looks shocked. "How could you possibly know that?" She asks. I smile. "I'm like you." I tell her. She gasps. "Oh my gosh, that's so great. I haven't met that many people like me. Anyway, my power is I can communicate with animals. Also I can curl my hair whenever I want to. My mom is a hair stylist. I guess I get it from her." She says. "What powers do you have?" She asks. I shrug. "A lot. That's all I know." I say. Her face lights up. "You're a hybrid! If you have multiple powers, you're a hybrid. I don't count because one of my powers was inherited. Anyway, right now there's only four living hybrids in the whole world. That's how rare they are. I found all this out from my doctor. She's a special doctor. She's a doctor for special people like us." She tells me. A hybrid. I finally got called something other than a project.
Sorry I haven't been publishing much lately. I promise there's more in store. Lol I just rhymed. 🤦🏻♀️ Anyway I hope the story isn't moving to slow now because I feel like it was moving too fast and now it's moving to slow, but maybe not. Maybe I'm just over thinking it.
Thanks for reading:))))))))
