I sat in the living room with my parents staring at me. I looked down at my phone, 7:59 pm. A couple more minutes before he picks me up. "Why are you staring at me like that?" I finally asked.
"This boy was supposed to be here at 8 o'clock." My dad stated. He looked down at his watch. "It's 8:01. I don't if I can trust this boy if he can't even show up on time." My mother just nodded her head agreeing with him.
"Guys calm down, maybe something happened? You never know.” My dad just shook his head. I was about to speak again when there was a knock at the door, finally. I hopped up off the couch and jogged over the door and opened it, there he was just smiling at me.
“Can I come in?” he asked stepping forward.
“I looked back behind the door at my parents and shook my head. “I don’t think that’s the best idea. Let’s just head to the movies.”
He shrugged his shoulders and said, “Fine by me.”
“Bye mom, bye dad.” I said closing the door.
When we were on the road, Austin glanced at me and asked, “What was that all about back there?”
“My parents were mad with you because you were late. I was just saving you from a deadly conversation with my parents.” I answered. He smiled at me and grabbed my hand.
“That’s why I like you.” He said. I smiled and squeezed his hand a little.
He parked the car in front of the theatre and walked hand in hand into the theatre. “By the way what movie are we seeing?”
He stopped in front of the counter and said to the cashier, “Two tickets for Fault in Our Stars please.”
I smiled at him, “I loved the book and wanted to see the movie for so long. This is going to be awesome.” He laughed and we then walked into the movie theatre. We sat right in the middle, right when we sat down the movie started. During the whole movie I could feel Austin’s gaze, waiting for me to start crying. Luckily for him I started crying before things happened because I knew they were coming. I once glanced at Austin at the saddest part of the movie and saw him crying, this is why I like you. It was almost the end where she was laying the grass staring at the sky, when Austin put his finger under my chin and pulled my head towards his. I stared into his eyes, “What?”
“Nothing.” He said smiling at me. That’s when he leaned forward and kissed me. The kiss was perfect and sweet that I didn’t want it to stop. When he pulled away the movie was over and the lights were on. Everyone for some reason was looking at us just like in the movie, and then started clapping. I was so embarrassed that I buried my face into him. He bent down and kissed my forehead, then whispered into my ear, “And this is why I love you.”
I pulled my head up and whispered to him, “I love you too.”
Austin took me home after the movie and the car ride home was full of me talking about the movie and they changed it. “I mean they changed so many things, but it was still so perfect.”
“I’m glad you liked it (Y/N).” he said laughing to himself.
“Yeah I loved it so much. Gosh it made me cry a lot. Thank you again for taking me to see it.”
“No problem.” He smiled and parked in front of my house. He walked over to my side of the car and opened the door for me. He reached out his hand and helped me out of the car.
“Thanks.” He held onto my hand as we walked up to my front door. We stopped in front of the door and stood there starring at each other. “I really did have an amazing time Austin.”
“I know you did. Maybe we can do again sometime, but maybe as boyfriend and girlfriend?” He asked grabbing my hips and bringing me closer to him.
I wrapped my arms around his neck and said, “Of course. I wouldn’t have it any other way.” I smiled at him and leaned closer kissing him on the lips. The front door opened and I was pulled inside, I opened my eyes and saw Austin standing there staring at me. I waved goodbye and he did the same, and then walked away to his car. I walked up to my room ignoring everything my dad was yelling at me.
