Austin helped me out of Limo; I stepped forward and looked at the building in awe. It was so big and it was lit up for the dance; everywhere I looked I saw famous people walking into the building, helping their dates out of cars, and talking with one another. This was way too cool. Austin laughed at me, “Stop staring at them like that.”

“What I’m sorry I never see these guys every day of my life.” I said putting my arm through his. We started walking to the entrance.

“I don’t see these people every day either but I know how to control myself around them.” He leaned down and whispered to me, “Actually sometimes I get a little star struck.”

“What you get star struck?” I said gasping and putting a hand over my chest, pretending to be surprised. “That’s not possible.”

“(Y/N) Shut up.” He said blushing a little. I giggled and we walked up the stairs to the building waving to people that waved at us. Austin was right I didn’t see any paps anywhere; this must be an exclusive party for celebrities to sit back and have a fun time together.

“Where’s the rest of the crew?” I asked once we made it to the top.

“They didn’t want to come.” He said with a smile on his face.

“Or you told them not to come.” I said with a smirk.

“No, no that’s not it.” He said trying to defend himself. I laughed at him and we walked through the doors into the big ballroom. This place looked absolutely beautiful. When we entered there was a man that announced our arrival, making everyone turn and watch us walk to our seats.

“That was extremely awkward.” I said once we reached our seats. I looked around and saw they all averted their eyes to the next couple. Austin pulled out my chair and I sat down, he sat down next to me watching the other couples walk down the stairs and to their seats. I turned in my seat and saw who was at our table; I nudged Austin in the side.

“What?” he asked turning in his seat and saw who I was seeing. “Oh my, um hi Camila, Becky.” He said waving. I waved with him. Camila was sitting there with her date just staring at us smiling.

“Hello Austin.” She said with a sly smile.

“Hey Austin.” Becky said.

“How are you two doing?” Austin said scooting a little closer to me.

“Great.” Camila said looking over at Becky, Becky nodded her head. “You?”

“Just wonderful.” He said putting his arm around me and averting his eyes. I think Austin is getting really uncomfortable.

“Want to dance Austin?”

“Yeah.” He stood up and grabbed my hand leading me to the dance floor. “That was so awkward. I didn’t know they were going to be at our table.” I looked back and saw Camila and Becky laughing with each other.

“Well you did break up with both of them.” We walked onto the dance floor and Austin grabbed my other hand, and we followed the flow of everyone else.

“Well sorry I wasn’t in love, maybe someone else was in my sights.” He said looking at me, smiling.

“If that’s the case then you should have brought her instead and rub it in their faces.” I said looking away from him while we were moving, looking for them.

Austin stopped moving, “Do you really not know (Y/N)?”

“What are you talking about Austin?” I let go of his hands.

“Maybe I wasn’t blunt enough.” He grabbed my hand again and dragged me away from the dance floor.

“What are you doing?” I asked trying to keep up with him.

“I need to tell you something.” He answered without looking back at me. Once we reached a vacant spot of the ballroom he turned to me and let go of my hands. “I don’t know how to tell you this, it’s very hard for me. I thought you would have figured it out by now.”

“Austin what is it? You can tell me.” I said grabbing his hands this time. I looked into his eyes and he smiled weakly at me.

“(Y/N)” he looked down at the floor for a second then back at me, “I think, I mean I know I love you.” I let go his hands and covered my mouth in shock. “That’s the reason I broke up with Camila and Becky because deep down in my heart, I wanted you.”

“Don’t play jokes on me Austin; you know I don’t do well with being made fun of.” I said taking a step back.

“I’m not I promise.” He stepped closer to me and held out his hands.

I backed away and whispered to myself, “This is all too much.” I turned around and began to run for the front entrance.

“(Y/N)! Wait!” Austin yelled from behind me. This is just too much. I ran up the stairs and out the door. “Stop.” He continued to chase after me, but I didn’t look back. I stopped at the road and held out my hand hoping that a car would stop and take me home. I bent down and took off my shoes. I reached out my arm again but it was brought down by Austin. “Stop running away when you’re scared damn it.” He grabbed my face and pulled me to him; he bent down and kissed me.

I pushed at his chest making him pull away from me, “Why me Austin?”

“Because you’re my best friend (Y/N), you know everything about me, I think you’re beautiful, funny, what else could I possible want when I have everything right here in front of me.” He smiled and wrapped his arms around me, hugging me. “I like you (y/n) and I need to know if you feel the same about me? If you do great,” he smiled then frowned, “if not then I will go back inside and let you go home, we can never speak again if you want.”

I widened my eyes and pulled away from him, glaring at him, “I don’t want that to happen. Austin,” I took a deep breath and said something I thought I would never say out loud, “I like you too.”

He smiled and gave me a peck on the lips, “Good because I don’t know what I would have done without you.”
