Under the moon || Kakashi ||

Chapter 2

The next day I woke up needing to use the bathroom. I looked out of my room to see Kushina fixing something that smelled amazing.

"Good morning." I said to her and she looked at me smiling.

"Good morning." She said.

"I need to um... Use the bathroom." I said quietly.

"It's the door right across the hall." She said and I turned my head seeing it.

"Oh. Thank you." I said going inside.

After doing my business I go back into the kitchen and stand next to the table not really sure on what to do. Kushina turned around and looked at me.

"Take a seat I'm almost finish with breakfast." She said and I furrowed my eyebrows.

I took a seat at the table completely shocked. Back in the building with Mr. Ito children were never allowed to eat at the tables. We sat on the floors and waited until the adults finished their meals first.

"Minato breakfast is ready!" Kushina shouted up the stairs. When he came down he looked like he was about to go somewhere. "Where are you going?"

"Something came up and the Hokage needs me right away." He said and she sighed.

"Okay." She said. Minato headed out of the door leaving me and Kushina alone. "Here."

She sat a plate full of food down in front of me that I never thought I would ever eat. It was so much compared to what we were fed with Mr. Ito.

I began to eat my food right away not missing anything. I couldn't believe there was food that can actually taste this amazing. I never had this many flavors in my mouth before. I've only ever ate bread and rice or sometimes soup.

"Is it good." Kushina asked.

"Yes. Very good." I said finishing.

"Really." She said excited. "I'm not that good at cooking so-"

"Are you kidding me this is amazing." I said suddenly feeling happy. "Thank you so much."

"Your welcome." She said smiling. "You know your clothes are a little tattered. We should go and get you new ones."

I looked down at my clothes seeing that she was right.

When we left out of the house I had my hand in Kushina's hand. I was nervous by all the people around me, I've never seen this many people before with families. It was weird.

When we arrived to one of the buildings we went inside.

"What is this place?" I asked seeing all of the clothes inside. They looked so nice and clean.

"It's a clothing store." She said.

"Clothing store." I said.

"It's a place that keeps many clothes that you have to pay for." She said.

"Pay for?" I asked. "I think I've heard of something like that before. Do you mean with money?"

"Yes." She says and I nodded.

"But I don't have any of that money." I said worried that I wouldn't be getting any new clothes.

"I'm buying you them." She said. "Pick out anything you want."

"Are you sure." I asked. "I feel like it's a bad thing asking for your money."

"It's ok." She said leaning forward on her knees looking me in the eyes smiling. "Me and Minato are supposed to take care of you now. So it's my job to do these things for you."

When she said that there was something in my heart that felt weird. My body felt happy.

"Pick anything you want." She said and I hurried to find something. They all looked nice better than the clothes I currently had on.

While looking through the clothes I found an outfit that was that had a purple skirt and a white shirt. It was two colors that I really liked. I found another thing it was a purple jacket so I grabbed that also. I went over to Kushina to ask if I could get them and she said yes.

After Kushina gave the woman at the thing that Kushina told me was a cash register the money I got dressed into them and then we headed back outside.

"Well now that's over what should we do next." She said more to herself than me. "I should take you to the park. You'll meet other kids there."

"Other kids." I said.

"Yeah, you should make some friends. You'll have to start at the academy soon, so it would be nice if you know some people." She said.

"I don't think I want to." I said. "I want to learn more things before I can meet others. At least more about this big place you guys call a village and an academy."

"I guess your right." Kushina told me. "I keep forgetting about your lack of knowledge to the outside world. But I'm still amazed over how smart you are, your only 8 and a half and you have such a great way of thinking."

"I guess I was raised in an environment where I was forced to." I said.

"You'll live a different and better life now that your with me and Minato. I won't let anything happen to you, okay." She said looking down at me smiling.

"Okay." I said smiling back at her.

We ended up heading back home because I really didn't think I was able to make friends at my current Lack of words there are so many things I don't know from being held in the building with Mr. Ito.

When we did get home to Kushina taught me many words that I had no idea even existed Like she taught me the academy is the place were children go to learn things, how to become a ninja and many other things.

"I know what ninjutsu is. That was the only thing Mr. Ito spoke about to us he was teaching us it, he said we were going to be used for something. I only assumed he meant some big fight." I said to Kushina.

"War." She said and stared at her as if telling her to explain it and she did. "It's like hmm... Two different sides having conflict between each other and settling it in a big fight. It causes many to lose lives."

"It sounds similar to what Mr. Ito explained what we'd do in the future." I said looking down sadly. He was going to make us take lives and lose some of our own.

"It's okay Chiharu." She said saying my name that I forgot I had. "Your here now."

I smiled at her as she held my hand. I was thankful for her and Minato. They were good people and I couldn't wait to spend the rest of my life with them.

When Minato returned home Kushina had taught me how to cook and we made dinner together. We ate and Kushina told me how she fell in love with Mianto. But I got confused with a few of the words but just assumed what they meant not wanting to bother them about me not knowing a word again.

"Goodnight." Kushina said as I went to lay in my room.

That night I had an nightmare.

I was running through the forest away from Mr. Ito and his men with my friends. But they were all getting caught one by one and screaming for me. It was so loud.

"001!" 037 screamed.

"Help us 001!" 054 shouted.

"001!"

"001!"

"Help us!"

"Please!"

I was suddenly in a dark room and my closest
friend 014 was there staring at me. With tears in her eyes.

"This is your fault." She said to me. "He's going to punish us because you left and didn't take us with you."

"I-I didn't mean to." I said to her feeling my heart fill with sadness. "I'm sorry."

"Everything is because of you." She said.
