April Ayla
-Time Skip > at the amusement park-
"Ayla! You told me not to bring cash so now I want cotton candy! Buy me."
"Ugh I should have let you bring! C'mon which flavor?"
"Bubblegum, please."
"Here you go."
"Thanks."
The boys really weren't in the mood for rides but Ayla forced them to go on the ferris wheel with.
The sits were pairs and Ayla sat next to Jack.
I was feeling awkward after last night so I did everything I could not to sit with Finn.
Malcolm and I sat together and Finn ditched the whole thing by going to the restroom.
I put on my headphones and rested my head on Malcolm's shoulder.
"Whatcha listening to sista?"
"River."
"Ed?"
"Haha, you make it seem like he's your cousin."
"You like him?"
"Who Ed?"
"No Eminem."
"Nor like nor hate but this thing is iconic."
When the ferris wheel stopped Finn was waiting for us.
"You! Why didn't you get on this thing?!" Ayla shouted at Finn.
"Because if I did I had to sit next to a stranger."
"Acceptable. I'm hungry."
"Ayla but we just ate cotton candy!" I whined.
"So what?"
"But it's 6 o'clock! Would it be dinner or lunch?"
"Okay let's go on the roller coaster and then go eat dinner. Oh by the way how's Joanna?"
"Mad?"
"Why?"
I looked at Finn for a split second and saw that he was pretty confident.
"Because Finn has been ignoring her and when she asked me what was up with Finn I said that she should probably just stop blowing up his phone."
"Haha you're my bestie!" She gave me a fist bump.
Finn sure did look shocked.
We convinced Ayla not to go to the rollercoaster because its line was teeming with people.
Instead we went to the diner nearby.-Time Skip-
"Thanks guys, I had a great time!"
"We did too!"
"Come hang with us."
"Actually I was planning on riding my bike a bit. I like to ride it when the weather's breezy."
"Well then..."
"Can I join?" Finn said.
"I didn't know you had a bike."
"Well I do."
"Okay then."
The others left and Finn went to grab his bike.
So did I.
The road wasn't crowded.
"Where to?" Finn asked as he was getting on his bike.
"I never have definite destinations when I ride my bike."
He raised an eyebrow and we started pedaling.
I was ahead of him but I guess he stayed behind me intentionally.
The road was steep so there wasn't the need to pedal anymore.
We were both sliding down on waves of concrete and asphalt.
I had put on my headphones and I was listening to 'Runaway' by Aurora.
We didn't talk.
"Do you wanna see my secret place as a child?"
He narrowed his eyes and realized that I wasn't waiting for an answer, so he just followed me.
After a quarter of pedaling we arrived.
I got off my bike and stared at the strong tall wall which protected the garden from strangers.
"My grandma gave me this before she died."
I gestured at the key which rested on my chest by a chain.
I opened the door which led us to a huge garden.
"Wow." He whispered but I heard.
In the middle there was a piano which had gotten a bit wet because of the rain the day before yesterday.
The song on my phone changed to Million Years by Adele.
I took off my headphones and decided to play something on the piano.
I sat on the damp seat beneath the piano.
I started playing a random melody.
Finn had taken a seat on the grass.
When I finished playing I went and sat next to him pulling him down so we could lay on the grass.
The sky was now a dark shade of navy blue.
One or two shining stars were visible.
I got up and turned on the fairy lights in the garden.
When I came to sit back next to Finn I realized his head was swinging down.
He was a quiet crying mess.
I tapped his shoulder gently letting him know that I was back.
"My mom used to play that melody on the piano for me..."
"I'd really like to meet your mom, she sounds so sweet."
"Let's go."
"Alright."
At that we pedaled back to our houses.
