"James! Is Ricky in there! We're here, you two!" Shouts Mason, from Ricky's room.

Ricky pulls away, stopping our kiss. We stand up, and finish getting ready. Ricky opens the door to her room, where Mason is standing.

"So..." Mason begins, the rest of her words being stifled by the door.

--------------------
Ricky:
--------------------
"So... you and my brother went at it." Mason states, as I close the door.

"Went at what?" I ask, confused.

"You know. Mating?" She replies, a smile plastered onto her face.

"No, but we did kiss." I answer, blushing sightly.

"Oh." She sighs, before leaving.

I follow after looking around. We reach the deck, finding where everyone had begun to gather. We were loading onto a medium sized boat. When I am settled into the motor boat, I strike up a conversation.

"So, Jaz, how long have you worked for Monarch?" I ask, hoping to learn more about the mysterious company.

"Listen here, girly. I don't know who you are, but I do not work for Monarch." He growls, angry that I'd even think such a thing.

"Oh yeah? Well then who do you work for?" I ask, teasingly.

He opens his mouth to say something, but he doesn't get the chance.

"Hope I'm not interrupting." James says, returning to his seat.

He had gotten up for a moment to talk to Slivko. Jaz glared at him, but didn't finish what he was about to tell me. I lean into James, resting my head on his shoulder. His warmth welcomed me.

"What did I get us into?" I whisper, James putting his arm over my shoulder.

"Are we having second thoughts?" James teases.

"Yes. What if we don't make it back? What if the person stranded is already dead? What if-"

"No more what ifs. We're going to be fine." James interupts.

I go to disagree, but I see something in the water. It's far off, but it's still there. Like a shadow, it's a moving shape of darkness. I turn to get a better look.

"James, what is that?" I ask, drawing his attention to the water creature.

"It looks kind of like a whale." He responds.

Nina comes over to the edge of the boat. She squints at the shadow, that was now swimming towards us. Her eyes widen.

"That's no whale. Everybody brace-" she's cut off by a large thud to the side or the boat.

I'm knocked off my feet. James pulls me up, and ushers me to the side.

"Come on. We have to jump. Go!" He shouts, scaring me.

I take a large breath, and dive into the sea.

Conrad:

She goes under, the sea creature is no where to be seen. I jump in, hoping the creature would take the boat and not us. The island was only 60 feet away. Everyone else was swimming towards shore. There were a few soldiers behind me. Ricky finally broke the surface, and I swam over to her.

"Hurry." I order, trying to get her to move.

"We can't out swim that thing." She gasps, a little short of breath.

"No point in finding that out the hard way, now let's move." I shout, trying to pull her and swim.

She begins to swim, and we are almost near the island. Ricky and I are the first to the island. We look back at the boat. Suddenly, a huge creature launches out of the water. It swallows the boat whole. As it turns to renter the water, it lands on some of our soldiers.

"Oh, shit!" Yells Slivko.

"It's Skull Island all over again." Whispers Mills.

"No. This is much worse." Reles adds.

"Let's do role call!" Shouts Nina.

"Monarch... lied..." gasps Jasper.

"What?" Asks Ricky.

"There is no one stranded here. It was all just a lie." He spat, causing everyone to grow angry.

--------------------
Ricky:
--------------------

"I'm going to kill Brooks." Snaps James, making me fear for my own safety.

"Brooks was lied to as well." Nina states, not making eye contact.

"You knew?" Mason growls, getting in Nina's face.

"Yes. I-"

"Why did you actively volunteer for this death trap?" Asks James, only looking at Nina.

"It was new opportunities. Plus, I'd get to see creatures the world has only ever seen the past and in dreams." She answers, sounding very... crazy.

"I hate to say it, but you've got to be fucked up to think this place is a dream." Jaz growls, his voice strained.

"It doesn't matter anymore. We need to set up a camp. We need to start watches. We need to find a way out of here." I state, drawing everyone's attention.

"She's right." Agrees Jaz, James coming over to stand close to me.

"Of course she's right. She's brilliant." James snaps, not hiding his annoyance at all.

I glare at him.

"Be nice." I hiss, standing on tip toes and pulling him down by his shoulder in order to whisper in his ear.

"Now you're just asking for too much." He jests, making me laugh a little.

"C'mon you two. Help set up!"
