"We've found something that you should see." says an unimportant scientist.
"What is it?" asks Mark Russell, the now new leader of Monarch.
"It's... well... you just have to see it..."
Mark looks down at his daughter Madison, they shared words without actually speaking. They had just made it through an ordeal that no one on Earth will ever forget... The war of Titans, as most would come to call it. Since King Gidorah's defeat, brought about by Godzilla, Monarch has been scouring the globe for anymore monsters. Their searches have so far been heavily focused on the Antarctic.
The trio went down into the underground chasm that Monarch had stumbled upon. It lead to many new titan like creatures being discover. When they reached the very bottom, the scientist lead them through a gathering crowd and strait to the base of a huge solid block of ice. When they could see what was stuck in the ice they gasped. They were fully aware of the creatures becoming stuck, but they had never seen people stuck in the ice.
There was only two, and the scientists present were already at work trying to thaw them out.
"Who are they?" Mark asked.
"We aren't sure, sir. All we know right now, is that they aren't anywhere near as old as the monsters... they're much more recent." The scientist replies.
"Well get me someone who knows who these two are!" Mark shouted, starting to get both worried and excited.
The two mystery time travelers were now completely thawed, but they were unconscious. Doctors wheeled them away in order to help them get better.
"So what do we do when they wake up?" Madison asked, drawing her father's attention.
"I don't know, but we should keep them together so they don't freak out." He replies, already think ahead.
The father and daughter stick with the two people from the ice... Waking up to the world being like this would be very terrifying. As the day wore on, Madison began to get tired.
"Go ahead and fall asleep, Madie. I'll tell you when they wake up." Mark told his daughter.
She situated herself comfortable in her chair and closed her eyes. Mark began looking through some paper work that had been piling up. Suddenly the woman began to splutter and cough. Mark stood up, rushing to her side. Madie's head snapped up and she stared at the woman.
"Easy there, you're alright... you're safe." Mark cooed, not seeming to calm her.
"Where is he!" She shouted, finally forcing her frozen wind pipes to make a sound.
"He's right here." Madie said, rushing to the man's side.
As soon as the woman saw him, she tried to stand up. Mark tried to get her to lay back down.
"You don't want to do that, you'll hurt yourself." He explained.
"I don't care, I have to get to him... He needs to wake up... We need to get back..." She mumbles, making it to the man's side.
"Back where?" Madie questions.
"Back to Monarch." The woman said, frowning as if she was confused as to why they didn't already know that.
The man's eyes suddenly flew open and he began to freak out... clearly not knowing what was going on around him.
"Ricky! Ricky! Ricky!" He shouted, unable to be calmed.
"I'm right here! I'm right here! Conrad!" The woman was shouting back, grabbing his arms to try and get him to focus.
"Ricky?" He tested, finally calming down.
"Wait... You two are Ricky and James Conrad?!" Madie exclaims, excited for a reason know one is quite sure of.
"We are." Ricky replies, frowning at the girl.
"Dad, they were the first to survive Skull Island."
A/N
Sorry for making all of you who have been reading Kong: Skull Island wait. This is the second book, and this chapter is just a test run. I'm still unsure of where I am going with this series and a lot might change. I recently watched Godzilla: King of the Monsters, so the prologue is referring to it as it happened in the past.
However, this is the prologue, so this happens much later. The rest of the book happens directly after Kong: Skull Island, and doesn't take place now. I want to thank everyone who has patiently awaited this book. I also want to thank everyone who read the first book and gave it a lot of praise, you guys rock! I just want to warn you that this book is a serious land mine and everything in it is subject to change until I change it to completed, so don't expect everything to be set in stone.
Also this chapter is like a teaser, and it is not a guarantee that I will be posting anytime soon on this book. I apologize if you are dying to find out what happens to the gang, but I thank you for having patients with me. Also, this series has a bunch of spoilers for the new Godzilla movie, so if you haven't seen it, I suggest you do so very soon and before you continue reading this series. THANK YOU AMAZING READERS!!!!!!!!!!
